Dear Mom,
I know it's not easy for anyone when I come home from college. Of course, we are both excited, but when reality sets in, we both get stressed out. I know we will bump heads and things will get tough. However, I want to just say thank you. Thank you for feeding me and making sure everything is ready for me to come home. I don't mean to come home late or spend too much time with my friends, but this is a transition for me too. I know when you nag it is only because you love me and things need to be done.
When I come home from college, I drop all of my belongings at the door and sometimes I expect you to pick them back up. Thank you for doing it sometimes and thank you for reminding me that I need to be an adult and do it myself. Sometimes I just like the way you make my food and do my laundry. It's more of a compliment than me just being lazy. I promise.
Thank you for allowing me to tell you all about college, even the stuff that you don't want to hear about. Also, for reminding me that home can be just as fun because I get to spend time with you. You are my best friend and I miss you so much in those months away.
So, thank you for being you even when it's tough. Thank you for making my stay at home as amazing as it can be even when I'm tough.
