Video game Mass Effect Andromeda has been called bad and not reminiscent to the original series. Yet the biggest issue is that the reviewers keep trying to comparing this game to the original series.

My biggest complaint is that these reviewers don’t play the game and they just analyze it to find flaws. To be fair, the game does have some flaws, but if you are engrossed in the game you won’t even notice them. This is a problem. I am about 12 hours in and have spent most of my time doing side stuff and I am still extremely pleased with the game. How is this if the reviewers were only allowed to play about 10 hours and they couldn’t even go as far as I have? What did they see that I didn’t, a little glitch in facial movement that has no meaning or maybe a doctor doing the chicken walk?

Another complaint is that the reviewers are comparing this game to its predecessors, which were fantastic. The thing about this though is that Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3 took place in what is known as the Milky Way Galaxy, whereas this now Mass Effect takes place in what is known as the Andromeda Galaxy (hence the name of the game). Mass Effect Andromeda takes place 600 years after the events of Mass Effect 2 which means that it is also about 600 years after the events of Mass Effect 3 since Mass Effect 3 took place not long after Mass Effect 2. If we are looking at a game that is in a completely different galaxy, completely different story, and completely different characters, why are we trying to compare them to what they are not? That seems a little redundant.

But the biggest kicker is that some reviewers are telling gamers to not get this game if they care for the Mass Effect franchise. What!? This is a personal response to that from someone who loves the Mass Effect franchise and who owns Mass Effect Andromeda, please ignore the reviewers. They know not what they say or do. Mass Effect Andromeda is amazing and super enjoyable. All of the characters leave a lasting impression upon you, the environments are beautiful and diverse, the combat is way better than the previous games and is way more enjoyable, and the story is amazing. I can’t say enough good things about Mass Effect Andromeda and I will more than likely never say anything bad about it.

If you are a fan of Mass Effect, then you should play Mass Effect Andromeda. It is a great game and will open your mind to new possibilities and great experiences.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
