Netflix

Netflix is a beautiful, lovely invention, but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming because, if you are anything like me, you just really have absolutely no idea what you want to watch. There are so many different choices. There are so many different genres to consider. So the biggest question to consider when watching Netflix, is which shows are worth your time and which shows are boring as all get out? Here is a list, composed by none-other-than myself, of 5 must watch Netflix shows!

1. "Parks and Recreation"

I started watching this show last semester, and after the first season I honestly was not sure it was something I could really get into. But one day I decided to give the second season a shot and well... I accidentally binge watched the entire rest of the show. It is well worth watching, it is funny, has great actors and actresses and is totally relatable. So "treat yo self" and watch some "Parks and Rec!"

2. "The Office"

"The Office" is another show that is always a good choice. This one is hilarious, entertaining and it also has a great story line that you will fall in love with. Some of the characters are downright ridiculous, which makes it such a great show. This is a long running show with 9 seasons that you get to enjoy!

3. "Bob's Burgers"

This show always gives me a good laugh. This is for the people who appreciate stupid humor. The best part about this show is that unlike "Family Guy" or "American Dad," it isn't crude or crass. It is just a really funny show about an awkward little family and it can be pretty dang relatable. So uhhhhhhhh.....what are you doing not watching it right now?

4. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"

Netflix originals are usually a pretty safe bet when choosing what to watch. Netflix really takes care to make the shows that they produce really high quality. This show is hilarious and for college students just figuring out how to be adults it is seriously relatable haha. So what the ham sandwich are you doing not watching it? Go watch it you gosh darn mommy fudgers!

5. "Jane the Virgin"

This is a show that I started watching per my sister's recommendation. I really like this one because it has a really good mix of humor and drama. It, like "Unbreakable," is a newer series so it only has two seasons, but fear not! The third season comes soon! Who will she choose, Michael? Rafael? The suspense is killer!

Get on with your bad self and get your Netflix on! Now you have at least a couple of shows to watch before you return to the ever present state of indecision!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
