You've been pushing yourself all semester. After many late nights of studying and writing papers, it's time to take a breather. Whether you’re stuck being the on-duty R.A. this weekend or you’re from the area, there is plenty for you to do in Milwaukee over fall break. From star-studded performances to action-packed games, there is sure to be something you’ll enjoy.
Get in on the Milwaukee Music Scene
Many musicians are going to be making stops in the area over fall break. It’s like they knew Marquette students were going to have a little time off and would be looking for something to do.
Midterms are over and you’re in desperate need of a good time. The Rave Halloween Party is happening Friday, Oct. 23. Rapper Juicy J and electro house musician Steve Aoki are getting the party started at 8 p.m.
The fun continues into Saturday when the Timeflies duo of Rob Resnick and Cal Shapiro take over The Rave for a 4 p.m. performance. Be ready for an afternoon full of freestyling and beat boxing.
If you’re an old soul who is looking for a blast from the past, you won’t want to be anywhere but the Milwaukee Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 24. The man of many hats, ranging from actor to activist, Willie Nelson, will be making a stop in town. He is joined by Merle Haggard. The show is set to start at 8 p.m.
A performer who has been in the industry since the '80s is making her way to The Pabst Theater. Kick off your break with Mary Chapin Carpenter on Wednesday, Oct. 21. This Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter will be putting on an intimate, acoustic performance at 7 p.m.
Get your head in the game.
You can have the best of both worlds as The Milwaukee Admirals take on the Rockford Ice Hogs Saturday, Oct 24. This isn’t just a night of action-packed hockey. Foreigner is performing a post-game show. Grab your gang and belt classics like “Feels Like the First Time” all night long. Game time is 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
If you’re looking for sports without the music, head on over to Valley Fields to cheer on your Golden Eagles women’s soccer team. They are taking on Villanova at 7 p.m on Thursday, Oct. 22.
The women's volleyball team will not be catching a break this weekend. They play Seton Hall at the Al McGuire Center on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. They will be back in action the following day as they take on Villanova at 6 p.m.
Hopefully, you have an idea as to how you could be spending fall break 2015. Have fun, relax and take in everything Milwaukee has to offer before you have to get back to hitting the books.
