There have been some recent discussions about the DPRK's (North Korea) actions against the United States, and if you are confused, I can fill you in easily.
During early July (the 7th to be exact), the U.S. placed Kim Jong Un, dictator of the DPRK, on the list of sanctioned individuals. Anybody on this list in an enemy of the United States (there are lots of Russians on it). The DPRK has been placed on sanctioned from Washington before but never has the dictator been individually sanctioned. After Kim Jong Un received notice that he was being individually sanctioned by his one of his rival country's, the United States, he took immediate actions. "Actions" might be too strong of a word to use with the DPRK because they rarely take any, but this situation could be serious. Kim Jong Un told the U.S. to remove the sanction because it was an "open declaration of war against the DPRK" (KCNA). We already thought this guy was insane, but now he's more than that. I can't even think of a word that is more insulting than insane and also appropriate enough to put in this writing. Anyways, what this sanction does a lot more than you may initially think. According to CNN, the U.S. believes that the sanction they placed on Kim Jong Un will restrict him from relations with certain businesses and corporations. Now it's time to know why.
Why did the U.S. place this sanction on the unruly dictator? Great question. The United States declared that Kim was "abusing human rights". Took us long enough, right? This man is a terrible leader. Anybody who does not follow him is killed, his followers are brainwashed to believe that he a god, and he sets the country apart from the rest of the world all while thinking that they can destroy anybody. I think it was very good for the U.S. to put this on the North Korean dictator even though he once again threatened us. The threat was laughed at by most of the American social media with memes like this.
Aside from the laughter, this threat by Kim Jong Un might be real with all of the nuclear testings that has been going on over there. The media in the U.S. hasn't really made this a topic of discussion because of the craziness of Election 2016, but it should be talked about. This was a threat to Americans, and I believe that everyone deserves to know what the hell is going on with North Korea.
