With fall in full swing and the holiday season coming to a start it’s easy to forget about the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Many spend Thanksgiving watching football while feasting on delicious food. Others enjoy black friday shopping which helps them prepare for the Christmas season. We often find ourselves scrambling to plan thanksgiving gatherings with family and friends. Although it is important to spend this time with family, many forget to be thankful for things they are so accustomed to having. Heres what I am thankful for this holiday season.
I’m thankful for my family. No matter where life takes me I know they will be there to support me every step of the way. Through the good and the bad they are always by my side.
I’m thankful for my friends who accept me for who I am. True friendships are hard to find, but a blessing to have. They love me when I forget to love myself.
I’m thankful for good health and living in a country where I have access to health care.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to go to school and receive an education. Education is so accessible, unlike other places around the world. It’s a privilege to learn.
I’m thankful for the ability to love and be loved by those around me.
I’m thankful to have a roof over my head and food on the table. This is something that is often taken for granted.
I’m thankful for the life I live. Sometimes I forget to enjoy life and everything it has to offer. I go through the daily motions and complete the tasks at hand for that particular day. It is important to stop and look around to realize that life is precious. You never know what could happen. Make the most of it and appreciate the little things. Be thankful for everything you have and remember to thank those around you for what they do. Remember to be thankful this holiday season.
