What Is Your 'Parks and Rec' Identity Based on Your Zodiac?

"Parks and Recreation" is everyone’s favorite mockumentary full of relatable scenarios and characters in every scene of every episode of every season. With such relatable characters, they must relate to the Zodiac calendar, too, shouldn’t they? Which one are you?

Aries: Leslie Knope

Aries are natural over-achievers and are ambitious in everything they do. They are devoted friends and loyal until the end, just like Leslie. Just as she gets along with essentially everyone in the office, Aries get along with everyone as well. They also know how to fight until they end for their causes, just as Leslie did when she was trying to bring the Sweet-ums case to justice or running for city council against Bobby Newport.

Taurus: Ron Swanson

A Taurus is strong and sometimes even stubborn, just as is our favorite tough guy Ron Swanson. Ron is innately strong-willed and knows what he wants, as does the Taurus. Skilled in matters of business, a Taurus is both practical and logical in his or her day-to-day life. Taurians may appear tough on the surface, but have big heartw underneath, and so does Ron. When he is declared the recipient of a “woman of the year” award, he explains that it should actually go to Leslie, especially because she is the backbone of the parks and recreation department herself.

Gemini: Andy Dwyer

Geminis are flexible and adapt well to situations, just like Andy. From his extremely quick marriage to April to moving in with her and Ben, Andy is never afraid of a new situation. He also adapts well, such as his innovative way of getting around the water fountain barriers to be installed in Pawnee public water fountains, of course.

Cancer: April Ludgate

Although sometimes a bit moody, Cancers are very traditional and place importance on family. Similarly, while April’s mood can swing quite a bit here and there, she loves Andy and takes pride in being married to him. She, of course, shows this in her own quiet way, as would any Cancer. Cancers sometimes need their alone time to just be by themselves and not socialize and this is definitely true of April as well.

Leo: Ann Perkins

Level-headed and strong, Leos know how to be natural leaders just like Ann Perkins. While she is not the TV show’s central leader, she is in her own way very much a leader. She is always level-headed when her best friend Leslie sometimes isn’t, and she maintains a strong career in nursing throughout the series. Later on, she even takes on an additional job working for the Parks department balancing the two positions with ease just as a Leo would.

Virgo: Mark Brendanawicz

Virgos are intuitive and intelligent and work well within their groups. Mark Brendanawicz, the Pawnee city planner, is just that. While he does not stick around in the series for long, in the time that we do see him, we see that he is very sharp and gets along with the people that he works with. However, Virgos must watch out for their tendency to self-serve, which Mark has a history of doing as is evident by his romantic past. However, Virgos are good at reading and coping with people, such as Mark when Ann breaks up with him, he stays level-headed and moves on.

Libra: Garry/Jerry Girgich

Sometimes perceived as shy and quiet, Libras are kind and caring souls who would never hurt a fly. Despite the attitudes of those around him, especially toward him, Garry/Jerry is always cheery and motivated in what he does. He is kind to everyone in the office and genuinely cares about making people happy. Sometimes he can take this too far, such as his stuffing Leslie’s campaign letters until 4 a.m., realizing he messed them all up, then cheerfully starting right back over.

Scorpio: Chris Traeger

Complete and utter focus. Determination and boldness. These are the ultimate qualities of Scorpios and Chris Traeger alike. Chris, the annoyingly positive employee of the parks department, can typically be found doing upside down sit-ups hanging from the ceiling or eating a carbless, fatless, sugarless meal that is “literally the most delicious thing he’s ever had,” but is actually disgusting. Somehow, he manages his vigorous healthy lifestyle and positivity through his intense daily goals he sets for himself and the fact that he stays almost a little too positive 24/7.

Sagittarius: Tom Haverford

A Sagittarius does have a very intense personality, as does Tom Haverford. Sagittarians tend to need to focus on one specific task very intensely, or they will go in several directions at once (think Detleff Shrempf and the Pawnee Telethon mission). Additionally, they are incredibly good at bouncing back from failure, such as Tom did when Ann continuously broke up with him and he continued to make her fall for him as best as he could.

Capricorn: Ben Wyatt

Organized and purposeful, Capricorns are on top of things from the get-go and keep calm pursuing their goals. Ben Wyatt was goal-driven enough to become mayor of his town at just 18 years old. He then ran his girlfriend Leslie Knope’s campaign for city council up until news of their relationship broke. He soon fell into what he did not realize was a depression, keeping his emotions bottled up while he built claymation figures and made calzones. Similarly, Capricorns if not careful, can be notorious for holding onto their own struggles and overthinking them all by themselves.

Aquarius: Li’l Sebastian

Honest and loyal, but humble and quiet are the qualities that made Pawnee fall in love with Li’l Sebastian and the world fall in love with Aquarians. Their methods for achievement are slightly different than most people’s methods, as are Li’l Sebastian’s way of becoming famous, since he became famous purely because of his precious appearance and his short stature. While Aquarians may do things a little differently, they always reach the outcome they want to and are usually quite successful.

Pisces: Donna Meagle

Pisces keep to themselves at times and in general, enjoy their alone time. Donna Meagle can relate. In fact, she usually has her head in some juicy paperback. Pisces are especially passionate about their friends and family, but especially protecting their family. Likewise, Donna does care about her friends, even opening up her home to a surprise party for Jerry. Her shelves dedicated to her cousin, the rapper Ginuwine, showing her love for her family as well even if she won't admit to it. Even if Donna does not show it on the surface, she is both gentle and generous just as Pisces are.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
