Everyone has their own spiritual walk that will run the coarse of their life. It is a process of growth that never ends. However, there is something we need in this walk for growth to happen. Its something that no one really wants.

For any growth to happen in your life, you have to get uncomfortable. There is a reason that there are growth pains when you are a child. This pain that people experience on their spiritual walk is more vital than they realize. Because without it, there is no growth that can happen.

Spiritual growing pains can come in many forms. One pain is in the form of things that happen in our lives. Things happen in our lives that set us back and test our faith. There is something that happens though afterward. Growth comes from trials. They help you mature and they give you insight into life. When you look at your trials, it helps put your life in perspective in comparison with others as well and understand people better. 1 Peter 4:12-13 says, "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed."

Another form of growth comes from stepping out in faith. When you step out in faith, you get uncomfortable because you don't know what's going to happen. There is much uncertainty about what is going to happen. Scripture says that, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths" - Proverbs 3:5-6. Whenever you step out in faith and amazing things happen, it will strengthen your faith all the more and it will help you grow tremendously.

Everyone has their own spiritual walk and everyone will encounter their own trials. But these trials will help you grow in the faith and help you better understand other people and life. Trusting in God to help you will allow you to see how good he really is. These trials, along with the act of stepping out in faith, will help you grow in your walk for the rest of your life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
