Most of the population only celebrates Christmas starting after Thanksgiving. Some people start after Halloween. However, if you’re like me, you might start when it’s Christmas in July on the Hallmark channel. My name is Danielle and I am a Christmas addict...literally. I really bless my friends and family for putting up with me and my jolly-ness.
1. We start celebrating Christmas mid-summer.
It might be on-the-low, but we will possibly have Mariah Carey’s Christmas album playing through our headphones and be planning out the decorations for the upcoming holiday season. Oh, and don't worry haters, we don't care.
2. Even if we aren’t partaking in any festive activities, we are looking forward to it.
“I can’t wait for Christmas,” I say at the beach on a hot July day.
3. The countdown starts in May and chances are, we know it off the top of our heads.
Expect us to blurt it out randomly too. “____ days until Christmas! Jingle your bells!” Each day we get more and more excited.
4. The day after Halloween we rise from the dead and begin to embrace our Christmas spirit.
You better believe that at 12:00 a.m. on Nov. 1 Burl Ives will be blasting throughout the house...not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Wait, what was I saying?
5. We take Christmas seriously. Do not mess with our holiday.
The decorations. The music. Making gingerbread houses. The traditions. It is all to be handled with the utmost care. Do not touch my tree.
