What It Is Like Being A Part Of An Odyssey Community

I have had such an amazing opportunity to write for the Odyssey and an even more amazing opportunity to be an Editor In Chief (EIC) for them. Through being an EIC I have been able to allow more and more people to be able to express themselves and that makes me so happy. I know what it is like to try to find that outlet to be able to express yourself. When I found the Odyssey it changed the way I managed my thoughts and insecurities. I have been able to write about anything that interests me or that I have gone through. It has been interesting to see how many people share and relate to what I have written about. Now as EIC I get excited about how many shares my Creators get and how many people love their work as much as I do.

The Odyssey has changed the way that many millennials express themselves because there were not many other outlets that allow for expression without others bashing you for what you wrote about. Luckily the Odyssey is not like that at all. The Odyssey allows for free expression without bashing. Writers are free to write about anything and everything that they would like to, and then end up being surprised with the amount of people that are able to relate or love what was written. That is what I love most about writing for the Odyssey.

I would recommend to anyone 16-27 that is looking for a writing outlet to look for an Odyssey community in your area and request to join!!!! I promise you that you will not be sorry! Hope to see some of your writing shared with the world!
