Hello!
My name is Chris, and this is my journey. I suppose you could say it's like my diary, although I never kept one. I could do one of those "this is all about me" posts, but I want to start with a question.
What is a creator?
See, the answer to this seems easy enough. But is it? The thing is, a creator isn't just somebody who makes something. They are somebody who is responsible for their creation as well. Let's take an architect. They create their designs and send them to the builders and I don't know what else but it gets built. But what if something happens to the building?
Of course, I started with an easy example. So what about the stereotypical creators like painters, actors, singers, dancers? How can they be responsible for what they do? Of course if you went to see a show and someone didn't know their lines, you'd be pissed. But that's just the top layer.
I'm sure that, at one time or another we've all seen a play or song that was...questionable. Maybe it was a lead on Broadway who seemed in a funk. Maybe it was a background actor that just didn't seem into it. Of course, I'm not putting the blame on anybody. But creation is their responsibility.
Creation is not an easy thing. Van Gogh killed himself. Many actors have become victims of drug abuse in their attempt to create. Writers write passages that they have experience with. That's why the best books are by people that have been hurt the most.
Which brings me to here. Now. 2016. Here on this wonderful website where we can speak our minds and not be caught up in the rest of the world. Yes, there will be articles on events in the real world, but here I'm going to make a promise.
I promise to create.
It's a promise I keep telling myself to do. So my promise is not just to you but to me.With one promise a lot can change. And I also promise not to just fill this feed with useless junk. I'll strive to keep it entertaining, funny, useful junk. Maybe I'll post a short story I've written. Maybe I'll talk about my longing to binge watch "Parks & Recreation", yet never having the time to do so. And maybe, hopefully...definitely, I will create. I will create a post each week and maybe it will strike a nerve with you. Maybe it won't. But I will post every week and I will create.
So, there you have it. A promise that I will keep not just for you but for me. Every week. One article. No junk or spam, just honest truths and useful information. To begin this journey, ask yourself one very simple question:
What will I create today?
