It’s been forever since you’ve last seen your best friend. You've missed having them around so much. The person that you can totally be your ratchet self with.
And can talk about basically EVERYTHING with.
So when you found out that she was going to come visit, you immediately started planning everything that you guys are going to do when she arrives.
There’s so much to do and so little time.
So you resolve to waste as little time as possible when you guys finally get to hang out.And when you finally do meet up...
1. You squeal and hug.
Because you literally haven’t seen each other in YEARS. You forgot what it feels like to even hug your best friend. And your squealing is a manner of expressing weeks of over-prolonged anticipation after she told you that she’d be visiting, and unbridled happiness at seeing her face in person at last. Then tell each other how fantastic the other looks.
2. You catch up on everything that’s happened since the last time you’ve seen each other.
If you haven’t been utilizing instant messaging or video chatting to be constantly updating each other on the minute details of your lives, of course. If you have, you still have hours and hours of stuff that you can find to talk about, because you want to know everything about their lives while you weren’t there.
3. You go out to eat.
You hit up your favorite restaurant, the one that you guys have so many memories at. And grab her favorite hometown fried chicken that she’s been missing while you’re at it.
4. You take many, many photos together.
You’ve both dressed up to the nines to go out, so you take as many pictures as possible.
It’s probably going to be an incredibly long time since you’ll both be able to see each other again, so you snapshot your time together while you still can. To the extent that your Instagram is filled with photos from your BF’s visit. So many pictures.
5. You meet up with your other hometown friends and have a group reunion.
Your best friend has other friends to catch up with too, so you guys all get together to hang out. And spend hours talking.
You revel in the fact that your squad is all together once again. And take more pictures.
And when it finally becomes time for your best friend to leave…
You hug for the last time.
Promise each other that you’ll keep each other updated on your lives. Even the little details.
You now have so many more new inside jokes when you talk.
And then you both count down the days until you’ll be able to see each other again.
