What Halloween Means When In College

It's that time of the year again where all the bars throw amazing Halloween parties as well as fraternities and everyone gets dressed up as something spectacular...or "out there" as our mothers would say it. But Halloween means something completely different when your in college versus when your in high school, duh...(get the mouse reference from Mean Girls)...anyways here is exactly what Halloween is like and means in college.

Since we can't technically be the cute trick or treaters anymore...

We decide we need to rage our faces off and have the college dream of partying of course.

But first before you rage you need to think of the best...not overdone costume and totally original (just a hint to help you if you are doing this last minute don't be Harley Quinn or someone from The Purge).

And the perks of being in college...it's Halloweek, not just one night. So that means an entire week of outfits! I mean who doesn't love that?

And what about SQUAD GOALS? Because it's something I always talk about. And that can mean just two people even.

But the stress level of figuring out an outfit is an entirely different problem.

But when it's your first college costume you are all about the "sexy" costume so why not be like Regina George as a bunny?

Then by the time you are a Senior you become like move out of the way freshman dressing like...well, we won't use that word but dressing "out there."

But wait, it's not just about the costumes. Let's be real... the pregame is what matters... so make something fun to drink. Tip: look on Pinterest, they have some dope drinks.

And when you go the bars... make sure to try anything fun they have that night.

And if you are craving candy...trust me you will live. Overall enjoy this Halloween and every single one because you get the chance to dress up. Maybe wear some mouse ears... DUH.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
