What Your Early 2000's Idol Says About You Now

Alright mid- to late-1990's babies, it's time to take it on back to those good ol' elementary school days at the start of the new millennium when butterfly clips fluttered in our hair and everything was covered in rhinestones. Your imaginary all-girl rock band—with you as the lead singer and your three best friends rocking out on the guitar, drums and piano—obviously didn't survive the first decade of the 21st century and thank goodness for that, right?!?

All the early 2000's pop diva you impersonated with your besties at recess every day? Well, unfortunately they all grew up, too. Some flourished into "Queen B," some had lots of babies, and some... well, some pierced their cheeks, bought bizarre wigs and started calling other fellow celebs "ugly" on Twitter.

What does your early 2000's idol say about YOU?

1. Britney Spears


Alright, face it. At some point in our childhoods, we were ALL Britney fans. As passionate and obsessed as we were, somewhere along the squeaky-clean schoolgirl road things got a little rocky. The good news is, we ended up stronger, than yesterday and made a lucky come back after experiencing a few crazy things throughout our middle school years. So we're gonna keep on dancin' 'til the world ends.

2. Avril Lavigne


Anyone that knew me in elementary, middle or high school KNOWS I am Avril Lavigne's No. 1 fan. No questions asked. I'm talking about those of us who rocked a tie, camo pants and Converse every day, and doodled a red star on every assignment given to us. No matter what, we will always worship this rebellious "Princess of Punk" and channel our inner sk8er boi at any given moment.

3. Christina Aguilera


Calling all Christina Aguilera fans! YOU are the total package. Even though you may have started out a little, uh, stripped, you have managed to maintain a sassy and respected reputation while getting better and better as you age. You are beautiful, no matter what they say, words can't bring you down.

4. Beyonce

You RUN THE WORLD. All hail, "Queen Bey".

5. Jessica Simpson

Well, your boots were made for walkin', and that's just what they did...

6. Amanda Bynes

Hey, I was a HUGE Amanda Bynes fan, so don't feel bad. We all were. Yep, this is the one who calls other celebs "ugly" on Twitter... let's just do us ALL a favor and leave it at that.

7. Hilary Duff


LIZZIE MCGUIRE!!! (Best Disney show of all time). Ahhh, Hilary fans are beautiful and timeless. Goodbye Lizzie McGuire, hello fabulous.

8. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen

Whoa baby! All of us early 2000's tween girls were glued to The Adventures of Mary Kate and Ashley and honestly wouldn't have made it to our teens without this dynamic duo. No matter how old we get, we will ALWAYS be best friends with Mary Kate and Ashley.

Whether you like it or not, these early 2000's divalicious icons will always be a part of each and every one of us and remind us why 90's babies are the BEST!
