Life has its ups and downs and it also has its boring moments. There are many things to do even when you feel like there is nothing to do. Here are 5 things you can when you are bored out of your mind.

Read a book

I know that a lot of people don't like reading nowadays but there are ways around that. You don't have to read long books without pictures. Read a picture book, read a comic book, read whatever you enjoy.

Begin a new series

There are many things to watch on TV, Netflix, Hulu, HBO, etc. You can watch the new Stranger Things season or you can watch a documentary. Watch whatever you want to watch.

Listen to new music

There are so many genres of music out there and being bored is a great time to explore new sounds. or if you enjoy listening to the same thing, that's great too because that more you listen to and enjoy something the more you appreciate it.

Play a video game

There are so many game systems nowadays and there are so many games that are unique to each one. You could play the many Nintendo games, play the PlayStation, the Xbox, a computer. The options are limitless.

Write your own book

This is similar to number one but this allows you to be creative. Writing a book is a difficult task but it is truly worth it in the end. I've tried and failed before but it is something I definitely want to do again. Even if no one else reads it, at least it's something that you are proud of.

Even though this list might seem obvious, a lot of people often get stuck in the "I don't know what to do" stage and hopefully this list can help you come up with other things to do. Remember, the options are limitless.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
