What I Am Going To Miss About UW-Stout
UW-Stout

Whenever anyone asks me when I graduate, the sudden feeling of relief washes over me as I tell them this May. It's been a wild ride at University of Wisconsin-Stout- busy, crazy, and knowledgeable. I have learned so much from my schooling and my friends, I have also learned so much about myself. Most of me is happy that all of this hectic business is close to done. Everyone always tells me that this is the best time of my life, and to enjoy my freedom. Believe me when I say, oh, I have. But I am also ready for the real world. I am not going to rush my final year at UW-Stout, but I am excited to be done with the crazy busy weeks juggling my clubs, school work, social life, and job.

There are definitely going to be things that I miss though, UW-Stout has given me so many fond memories and so many friendships that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Here are a few of the things that I am going to miss, that I am positive you are going to miss as well.

1. I am going to miss watching the sun rise on a Saturday morning with my friends.

2. I'll miss going on adventures to devils punch bowl or tripp falls.

3. I'll miss going to get a mojito at Logjam for only 4 dollars all day, everyday.

4. I will miss going to eat at the Silver Dollar on Tuesday nights for burger night.

5. I'll miss going to Cancun on both Monday and Tuesday evenings to enjoy their deliciously cheap margaritas and chips. If you haven't tried their pineapple, mango, strawberry - you're missing out!

(and Tuesday)

6. I will also obviously miss wing Wednesdays at the Waterfront bar & grill.

7. I will miss the crazy shenanigans of move-in weekend. (Did anyone say slip n slide flip cup?!)

(I guess you can also call it slip n flip)

8. I'll miss living with some of my best friends, and finding cool places to live each year.

9. I will miss fishbowl Friday, honestly, there is no other town with deals like that.

10. I will miss craft nights with my friends, painting, tie-dying, coloring, all of it. Everyone is only five minutes away so they're always available to hang out.

11. I will miss all of the friends that I made by being Greek, there are so many people I met and became friends with that I never would have run into otherwise.

12. I will miss learning new important things everyday in my classes. I think most of us take this for granted, but we do have some phenomenal professors here.

13. I will miss going to the library to study with my friends and taking small breaks to do chair races.

14. I will miss the little ol' muffin lady that gives out free muffins on Monday mornings.

15. I will actually miss doing the fun assignments that professors SOMETIMES give us.

16. I will miss the challenge of the balancing game.

17. I will miss the crazy homecoming shenanigans that everyone gets into. It's such a competitive week with organizations there is always a new activity everyday.

18. I will miss late night walks around town with my friends, grabbing a slice of Jeff's pizza at 2am.

I have made some unforgettable memories here, with so many unforgettable people, and I have learned so much through all of my classes. I want to thank UW-Stout because without being accepted into this University I wouldn't be the person I am today. I am going to miss University of Wisconsin-Stout and all of it's contents, but I am ready to move on after one, final, crazy year here at college. Here's to us, class of 2017!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
