Like with any well-sustained obsession, a voracious love for books and reading often bleeds into a reader's character-- marking him with compulsive habits that strangers (and even friends who are non-readers) find odd and borderline disturbing. If you are new to the curious habits of readers, know that we:
1. Hoard books everywhere
2. . . . literally everywhere.

3. Spend all our money on books and bookish accessories.

4. Make unsolicited book recommendations to friends.

5. Pack too many books to take on vacation.

6. Treat "what's your favorite book?" like a life or death question.

7. Sniff books
10/10 would risk inhaling a bug just to smell an old book.
8. Buy several copies of the same book.
They are not all the same!
9. Use bookish pickup lines.

10. Dress as our favorite literary work/ writer for Halloween.

11. Crush on fictional characters.![]()
Even though we can never exist in the same time and space.
12. Claim we have nothing to read when we've got entire shelves of unread books.
But despite what people think, we know that nothing is as intoxicating as a good book-- so we will forever incorporate books into our outfits, have 'back-up' copies, and love those marked slices of trees more than most things.
