To be honest life is hard and sometimes it’s full of crap, but this shouldn’t keep you from living your life the best you can. Now everyone’s life is different, and no one can tell you how to live it, or make how to make it your best, but there are a few things that make life better. Life is made up of a number of little moments. It’s never too late to make them count.

1. Love

There is so much to love in this life, and there is so much to gain love from. Love those who who don’t know how, and those who love like there’s no tomorrow. Love deeply.

2. Have fun

Enjoy every little moment you are given. Enjoy the movie, go bowling, run in a field of daisies. Just have fun. Whatever that may be. Do it.

3. Be with family

Family is one of the single best things we are given in life. Yes family can be crazy and hectic, but I promise they will always be there. I have many families, and I know I can count on all of them.

4. Make friends

Without friends who knows where we would be. Friends keep us sane, and let of have a little fun along the way.

5. Eat good food

Everyone knows we all need food to live so why not make it good food. Something so simple can have so much impact. Good food makes you happy, and happiness is the end goal.

6. Be kind

There is already too much hate in this world. Show kindness, and be different. Be what you wish to see.

7. Travel

Go see the world. You can go see your closest park, or go to the other side of the planet. Just go see. Don’t stay exactly where you are. Move, and see.

8. Rest

To be honest naps are a great gift. Rest yourself. Don’t do so much that you can’t enjoy it. Sleep, relax with a good book, drink hot cocoa and watch a movie. Just take a moment to breathe.

9. Learn

There is so much to learn. Don’t just be happy with what you know. Challenge yourself. Learn how others see the world so that you can appreciate it more.

10. Step out of your comfort zone

This is hard. We all like to stay nice and comfy, but let’s be honest. Some of the best things happen outside of the comfort zone. Try not to retreat to what you know, but to instead walk out into something a little different.

Live your best life for you. There is no way to know for sure how things will turn out, but we can always try to make them better. While making this life the best it can be for yourself, you can help make it the best it can be for others as well.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
