Finals, papers, presentations and projects oh my! It is that time of the semester again and college students across the country are stressing about all of the assignments they have to get done before Winter Break. Here are 10 ways to get through finals and the end of the semester, with a minimal amount of stress!

1. Make a schedule

It can be very helpful to make a schedule of paper and project deadlines, and when your finals and presentations are. This way you don't forget an assignment or forget when you have a final, and have to study or write a paper at the last minute.

2. Make lists

Lists can be helpful to plan ahead and schedule when you should start studying and when you should start working on assignments.

3. Take Breaks

While it is good to not procrastinate and to study and work on your assignments early on, it is also good to take a break every now and then. Take a break from studying and doing assignments, and color, read a book for entertainment, craft, watch a movie, or even binge watch a tv show on Netflix!

4. Eat well

Make sure you don't forget to eat when you are in your studying zone!

5. Sleep well

Make sure you get at least eight hours of sleep at night! Your brain can't retain information or concentrate if it isn't well rested!

6. Look at old assignments

Information from old assignments will most likely be on your finals!

7. Study with friends

Studying with friends can be a good idea, not only so you aren't cooped up in your room alone all of the time, but also because they may be able to help you with the material you don't understand.

8. Get a change of scenery

Being stuck in your room and the library all of the time while studying can become tiring. Go study in a coffee shop or even outside to get some sunshine!

9. Prioritize

Prioritize and study the subjects you are struggling with a lot more than the ones you feel more confident in.

10. Make room for fun

We all are bogged down with papers, projects, presentations and studying for finals, but we need to make room for fun every once in awhile too. Go see a movie, go out to eat, go to the mall, go on adventures, or even just go on a walk around campus!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
