Winter break flew by and second semester is about to hit. It's gonna hit hard. Whether oraganization is part of your New Years resolutions or not, I think a new semester is a great chance to start fresh and organize yourself! It's so easy in college to stress over the overwhelming disorganization. Not only do our backpacks get disorganized but so do our schedules and our minds. The best way to overcome the stress that school brings is to get organized. Here are some of my favorite ways to get your life in color-coded and in alphabetical order. Ready? Let's go.

1. Bullet journal

I recently started using a bullet journal and I am in love. Not only do I stay more organized, but I also have a creative outlet! It's kind of like a planner you can create yourself! I highly recommend looking for ideas on Pinterest.

2. Pencil pouch

This one is kind of a given. I, for one, lose pencils ALL THE TIME. If not for a pencil pouch I would be buying a new pack of pencils every week. In addition, they are super cute, so that's a plus.

3. Backpack trash bag

Ok. So I've never heard of anyone doing this, but I think it could be a great idea. Just put a grocery bag in your backpack to hold gum wrappers, granola bar crumbs, or those dumb frilly things that come off lined paper. My backpack is always full of that trash and I wish I had thought of using a trash bag sooner.

4. Meal plan

Say goodbye to wondering what you're gonna eat later! Planning out all your meals for the week helps you to budget grocery money and help you know what you're going to eat beforehand. Organized and ready to go.

5. Journaling

Jounaling is great for the mind. It helps you to better process your emotions and life events. Plus, it gives you something to look back on later to remember what was going on in your life. This might not organize your schedule, but it sure wil help organize your thoughts.

6. Lists

I love making lists! I can list things I need to do for the day, homework assignments I need to finish, and people I need to contact. I think lists are a great way to stay on track and it is SO satisfying to check things off a list.

7. Snack packs

Snacks are the best. It's even better when you pre-pack them because it makes it way easier to control your portions and grab one on the go. This doesn't mean only eating prepackaged food, either. It is really easy to bag up your own snacks to use throughout the week! My favorites are trail mix and pretzels!

8. Calendar

Always use a calendar. Always. It is a great way to see the entire month in one glance and it helps you plan your time better. Plus they make super cute ones.

9. Apple calendar

What's better than a regular calendar? An Apple Calendar. This system is my life. I put all my events on it and all my homework deadlines so I don't miss a thing. I really love it because I can use it on my computer and my phone.

10. Binders

Finally, binders are great for keeping documents in order. You can use them for your financial and legal documents, making it easy to find them when you need them!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
