Simmer Down From The Bitter Parts of Life With The Anime 'Yumeiro Pâtissière'

I recently watched the first season of the anime, "Yumeiro Pâtissière." The title means the dream color of a pastry chef. In my opinion, it is a very good anime that tells you to always pursue your dreams despite the bitter parts of life. It is a cute anime, so you should check it out and the summary below.

Amano Ichigo always likes her grandmother's sweet food. She has the urge to become a pâtissière like her grandmother. At a sweet food convention, she meets a man named Henri who made a sweet food that her grandmother made for her before. He suggests that Ichigo should apply for the St. Marie Academy so that she can learn how to become a pâtissière. Ichigo agrees to that suggestion and she eventually gets admitted to the academy.

On her first day of cooking class, Ichigo does not know how to cook a mille crepe. It turns out that she is way behind everyone else in the class. One of her teammates, Makoto Kashino, reprimands her for bringing the team down. Her team is called the A-group which consists of three handsome boys who are skillful in making sweet food. These boys are Makato Kashino, Satsuki Hanabusa, and Sennosuke Andou. Kashino is a mean tough guy while Hanabusa and Andou are the gentle ones.

At nighttime, Ichigo tries to make the mille crepe again by herself. She meets with a sweet spirit named Vanilla who helps her out. Her mille crepe turns out to be successful at the end. Ichigo is not the only one who has a sweet spirit. All the students especially the A-group has their own sweet spirits. As time passes in the anime, Ichigo gets better with her cooking skills and the A-group gets along with her.

As the anime reaches its main point, Ichigo and the A-group have to compete in the Grand Prix, so that they can go to Paris to further their studies in being a pâtissière. As they test their skills in the competition, Ichigo and the A-group face obstacles with competitors and they learn the importance of their bond for each other. Things get sweeter throughout the anime if you keep watching it!

There is a second season to this anime and it is called "Yumeiro Pâtissière Professional." I have not watched it yet and I do not know if I am going to. Overall, I have a great time watching the first season. Here is one fun fact before I conclude this article. The name, Ichigo, means strawberry in Japanese. You probably know this before especially if you watch other animes that have characters with that name. It is a name for both girls and boys.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
