"Shameless" is a TV show that appears on Showtime. The series eventually made an appearance on Netflix and currently has seven seasons. The series is about a family living on the south side of Chicago, just trying to get by. The actors in the show recently announced that there will be an 8th season coming soon! Here are reasons why you need to catch up before the new season is released.
1. It's funny.
A couple people told me that I needed to watch Shameless because it is so funny. I didn't understand how it could be funny until I began watching it. You'll be surprised. The characters do the stupidest things that will just make you laugh. Personally, in my opinion, the funniest character is Frank. Frank is the "father" of the characters. He is always drunk or on drugs. Not a good father figure. All the other characters have their fair share of funny moments.
2. It's heartwarming.
Although the show is pretty funny, it has sad moments. When you think about the whole show, the oldest daughter, Fiona, is taking care of all of her siblings. The parents don't do anything. Fiona is basically their mom and dad. She cooks, cleans, pays for bills, and so on. It's heartwarming seeing how much she cares for her siblings. She cares for them as if they are her own children. You don't see that a lot in modern day society. It is also heartwarming because the show touches on very intimate subjects such as mental illness, drug/alcohol abuse, and abusive relationships.
3. The Gallagher boys are so hot.
There are four Gallagher boys, but I will only be talking about Lip, Ian, and Carl. Lip and Carl are my personal favorites, but they are all good looking. Lip is a bad boy, Ian is a tough guy but also very tender hearted, and Carl has always been a trouble maker. Carl gets really attractive later on in the series. I have grown to love each of these characters more and more every season.
4. The relationships warm your heart.
Throughout the series, there are a lot of relationships. All of the relationships are unique in their own way, which is very entertaining. I have caught myself yelling at my computer screen during certain moments, because of some surprising events. One of my absolute favorite relationships is Kevin and Veronica. Once you watch "Shameless" you will understand that they are the true definition of relationship goals.
5. The introduction before every episode nails it.
At the beginning of every episode, there are characters that say something like, "For those of you who were too f*cking busy, here's what happened last week on Shameless". Some of them are really funny and a must watch part of every episode.
