It has been far too long since I last wrote about the band Waterparks, and with the impending release of their album,"Entertainment," I thought it was high time I remedy that issue. So, while we all anxiously await January 26, I thought I'd compile a list to help you best prepare for the music and music videos they'll grace us with.
This was one of the most difficult articles for me to write, and that's saying a lot. Here are all of Waterparks' music videos, ranked by quality and stupidity.
11. "No Capes"
This is an attempt at the live music video without the resources that most live videos have. Very entertaining, but not their highest point.
10. "I'm a Natural Blue"
Once again, an adorable attempt at making a music video from the then-garage band. Oh, how far they've come.
9. "21 Questions"
It's adorable, but kind of a generic heartfelt emotional acoustic video. It's good if you're into that kind of thing I guess.
8. "Crave"
In which they pretend to compete in a dog show. Those are some quality onesies.
7. "Silver"
I feel like the idea here was to rip off the MCR "The Ghost of You" video, which was already a reference to Saving Private Ryan. The slight nuances, like the water guns and balloons, are what separate Waterparks' rendition from the rest.
6. "Plum Island"
Basically, a well-done version of the "No Capes" video. They got more funding and it shows.
5. " Royal"
Reminiscent of the random dance scene in Good Burger, this video explores Awsten's inner self, a beautiful insight into his psyche.
4. "Stupid for You"
In which Geoff and Otto pretend to be back ups in a boyband instead of integral pieces of the group. I wonder if there's any truth to that.
3. "Gloom Boys"
So basically their friend, Travis, wants to be the band's bassist and has to go through a bunch of obstacles to get there. Spoiler: he doesn't make it, as reality tells us.
2. "Blonde"
The newest edition to Waterparks' music video family, "Blonde" brings back a lot of familiar faces and unfamiliar haircuts. It's interesting.
1. "New Wave"
I had to put this one first. It may be extremely low quality, but I think we all have to agree that it is objectively the best piece of artwork we've ever seen. If you didn't watch any of the others, please, please watch this one.
