Was That All-Nighter Really Worth It?

Let me just say how much I love sleep.

It's one of those questions we always have to ask ourselves when the papers, exams and homework all pile up. Should I pull an all-nighter? The answer is NO!

Let me just start out by saying I am a person who enjoys her sleep. Sleeping is a hobby for me.

If you could find time during your day to put down your phone and log out of Netflix, maybe you wouldn't need to spend an all-nighter in a room by yourself.

Sleep is an amazing thing. Cherish it. Don't wait until the last second to get all of your assignments done. Procrastination will get you nowhere.

College is not the place to lose sleep. It will be hard to catch up because classes, assignments, and responsibilities will pile up very quickly. When I came to college, I was expecting many all-nighters, but I'm almost done with the first semester and have only pulled one. It was so not worth it. You have way too much time on your hands in college to have to pull all-nighters.

Be prepared to balance your schoolwork with all the things you want to do (like watching Netflix at all hours of the day/night). Don't pull an all-nighter unless it is absolutely necessary. Most of the time you might have to go to sleep later and wake up early, but sleep as much as you can.

Take NAPS! That is the sole reason I am surviving in college. Class tires you out. Walking all over campus makes you tired by the time you get back to your dorm/apartment. Do not take the extra time you have for grated. Do something productive like getting an assignment done, catching up on sleep, or hanging with your friends. Take time to just be by yourself.

RELAX! College isn't that hard-just pace yourself and get ready to actually do class work in your free time.

Make time for sleep. Don't go through college pulling all-nighter after all-nighter. You can do it! I promise!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
