This is the first chapter of a book that I'm working on. I decided the name the book "Waves" because the scenery of the book is mostly around the ocean and it has real world topics, such as bullying and homosexuality mixed with a fantasy element (hence there's mermaids and merman). The plot of the book kind of moves like It's a wave. Where the plot increases intensity and then resides but then it slowly intensities again. The book is about a young boy who moves from a place that normally doesn't have water. I'm thinking he moves from Ohio to the coast (I'm thinking somewhere in Europe. He has never seen the ocean before but he is so obsessed with it. Then, he moves to the coast; into a new house that he doesn't like. He finds a spot near the ocean, where he can be himself and draw, write music, fish and so on. He goes to a new school where he isn't treated with open arms but with him being victimized by bulling, he eventually finds himself some friends. He go through high school being bullied and continues until one night the bully finds him in his spot and tries to kill him by tying weights to him. This will be explained better when I finish the book. Then, when he is near death he is saved by a strange creature who he finds out is a merman. They have a cliché love story (not giving any more spoilers). I was inspired by "Twilight" and a couple of other books that inspired me to write this book. I think it's a unique plot line. I hope you enjoy the first chapter to my book "Waves," which is still in the writing process. Note: what you are about to read is in a five to six minute time frame from the time he hit the water.

CHAPTER 1. SINKING

Sinking, sinking deeper into the ocean. My heart races as I'm sinking lower and lower into the dark abyss. My lungs yearns for the need of air. The Moonlight of the sky fades as a sink deeper into the water. My mouth slightly tastes of salty seawater. The gash caused by a knife, burns the more I'm in the water as the blood pours from the wound. This heavy weight bound around my hands has me in it's unbreakable hold, causing me sink down to the ocean floor. With every second I struggle to get free but with every second that passes, my will power flees from my body. The thought of breathing the colds night air escapes my mind. I know this will be my last moments. My lungs began to feel as though they're on fire. My heart races faster. The more I'm down here; the more oxygen escapes my lungs as the ocean pressure builds up around me. My eyes begin to feel as though they're getting heavier after every moment that passes. I stopped struggling to get free knowing it's useless.

Knowing these are my last moments, I think to myself "I can't believe this is the end. This is how I am going to die. A lonely, sad depressed teen." I began to feel tears in my eyes.

"Mom, Dad, I know that we may never had gotten along with each other but I love you. Even though the last time you saw me was when I ran out of the house. I said that I hated you two and my brother, Sven. I couldn't help saying it. It's what people say when they're angry." I reached the sea floor. The sand clouded up around me, clouding my vision. My face still continues to leak blood. The fish swim away from me in panic.

The burning is getting hotter in my lungs and my heart is racing faster. "Now I'm here at the bottom of the ocean. The next time you see your youngest son will probably be in a body bag on his way to the morgue."

I look up to see the moonlight sky which is barley hard to see. I feel cold like I'm in a freezer. I slightly started to shiver. My eye began to burn now with year of sorrow leaving my eyes. Bubble floated away due to need of realizing gases from my burning lungs.

"Was it even worth the hassle to break free? If I don't I drown. Would there be people who miss me? Probably not. No one cares about me. My parent ignore me. I'm constantly bullied at school for being different. My crush never notices me. Especially Thomas and his so called thugs. There the reason why I'm here. There the ones who put that cut on my face. There the ones who tied me to this weight. Now thanks to them I'm gonna die here. Where no one can find you." My eyes are becoming heavier. My surroundings being to darken. Then, I see it.

There is a dark figure swimming towards me. I panic. All the air left in my lung was release in my panic state, and I accidentally spelled the salt water. It's getting closer. I forced my eyes close for two reason. One the burning was to intense and second if I was going to get eaten then I don't want to see it. But be for I did the figure be a more clear. It looks like a man. But it had a fish tail. Like the ones that belong on dolphins. I started questioning myself "is that a man? No it has a tail. Maybe I'm hallucinating. It probably a shark coming here to finish me off. The blood must have attracted it." My body with little energy I had left went back into trying to set myself free of the weight. Still the ropes won't give way. I manage to open my eyes for a millisecond and saw the dark figure. it was no doubt is was a man. "But how? No one knows I'm down here except for Thomas and his gang." I open them again this time It's arm reach for me. My body tighten when it's skin brushed against mine.it was soft and warm. I'm the dim In light I saw it's tail. The tip of it's fin was white and it fades into turquoise. The tail glisten in the dim light ocean floor. I had a sudden realization "I must be hallucinating. A mermaid." I feel the ropes being tug on and shift. The tail causing the sand around me to cloud the water. I had to close my eye. The ropes loosen around my hands. "It's helping me." The ropes that was constricted around my arms fell. I then began to swim for the surface. My body ache with every stroke. My vision became blurred. "Oh no. I'm not gonna make it." My heart couldn't take it and neither can my lungs. The surface was just to far. I been under water for to long. My body can't take it. I gave up. I once again sank to the ocean . Then what I suspected was a mermaid wrap it's arm around me and starts lifting me to the surface. Everything around me goes black.

End of chapter.

Thank you, for reading the first chapter to my new book. As stated earlier it is still currently in the works so content may be subjected to change.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
