Traveling shouldn't be about the amount of money you spend. It's about the experience you surrender into your soul for the joy of the journey. You see nature, buildings, and people through a new lens while gaining the thrill of exploration.
Feeling the crisp air fill your lungs while you stand atop a mountain you trudged up just to see the view of the world below you is incredible. The awe moment of intense profoundness of the beauty of the land washes over you, and it feels as if it's cleansing your soul. Well, no, it is cleansing your soul and your mind. You are in a standstill, leaving the chaotic loudness of the world behind you. You become fulfilled in the ora of peace, even if it's just for a moment.
Learning about new cultures that are insanely different from yours is just in the explanation of the diversity of the human race. The groups of people that are unable to reach the use of a cellphone or the Internet thrive in the name of love. They tend to be warm and kind as a whole. Seeing how they live and how they tend to be so family oriented, opens your eyes to the incredibly soft side of people. It's almost refreshing in a way.
One of my absolute favorite things in the world is scuba diving. It's astonishing to not just see the completely alternate universe underneath the surface, but to also live in it for the time being. Understanding the mindset of the fish and how their ecosystem works makes your body flow with an energy that is so foreign to you. It's hard to find the words that describe the utter sensation of being surrounded by the big blue.
I think traveling is a necessity for us all. It becomes a chance for us to get lost, stumble around, and lose track of the destination so we are able to refind ourselves. We get to seek new possibilities and adventures that we all inevitably long for. Things come and go, but the experiences you capture in the essence of just living in the moment stay with you forever.
You want to stray off your usual path to get something more out of your life? Go. The hassle and money shouldn't keep you from the wisdom that's awaiting you. It's okay to drop everything the second the need to get away. There is nothing greater than the lessons you take away from the journey you choose to embark on. Pack a suitcase so you can unpack your mind when you get there. The art of storytelling was founded through the unseen places and unspoken truths of the cities, towns, and rolling hills that were made to stop you in your tracks.
"The world is a book, and those who do not travel only read one page." -St. Augustine
