St. Patrick’s Day this year is March 17. What do people normally associate with St. Patrick’s Day? The color green, four-leaf clovers, leprechauns, and… that’s about it. Maybe even going to a bar or partying downtown. This week, we decided to see what students at Rollins College knew (and didn’t know) about St. Patrick’s Day—by lying to them, of course. We gave students some very fake St. Patrick’s Day “facts” to see what they thought, and as it turns out, pretty much nobody—including me—knows anything at all about St. Patrick’s day. However, I can offer this disclaimer: St. Patrick was not an alcoholic, there is no tiny leprechaun tradition (sadly), and nobody is getting sacrificed for luck reasons.

No, Ireland's patron saint was not an alcoholic--at least, I hope not.
