If you're the only vegan in your friend group, you know the battle of choosing a fun and fitting restaurant for a Friday night dinner or Sunday brunch. We found some places that even your non-vegan friend will be happy to dine in!

1. Red Bamboo

These folks get busy during dinner. Find Asian and Southern cuisine including mock meat, faux fish, AND vegan desserts. The atmosphere is cute and warm; if you have a non-vegan date, this is a good place to take them!

2. By Chloe

Everyone knows about By Chloe even if they're not vegan. Go for the avocado toast, spicy thai salad, guacamole burger... Literally suitable for brunch, lunch, dinner, and/or solo snacking. Your non-vegan friends are missing out if they haven't been here yet.

3. Urban Vegan Kitchen

Organic comfort food located in the West Village. Dinner meals are a little pricier for the average broke college kid, but brunch food is on point and served until 4pm EVERY DAY. Oh, AND they deliver via ubereats, grubhub, and doordash.

4. Sacred Chow

Most people don't know about this hole in the wall, but this is a kosher-certified spot with numerous gluten-free, soy-free, sugar-free and nut-free options. AKA perfect for ALL your friends, ALL the picky eaters, and ALL the allergies.

5. The Butcher's Daughter

BRUNCH, BRUNCH, BRUNCH. One located in Greenwich Village while the other located in SoHo, this is a plant-based restaurant with coconut parfaits, acai bowls, and lettuce tortillas if you're vegan, and plenty of egg sandwiches, bagels, and omelette options if you're not. Their brunch wait tends to get LOOOONG, so make sure to put your name down and account for about an hour to explore before you actually sit down and eat.

6. Peacefood

Cute place to sit down and have all vegan pizzas, focacias, and sandwiches. If you don't have time to sit, they have fabulous smoothies, juices, and baked goods. PLUS, located super close to campus (11th & University Pl) - the perfect stop in between your busy class schedule.

7. LuAnne's Wild Ginger

Japanese, Korean, Chinese & Thai with mock meats and local produce. Closest location is right on Broome St. They have macro rice bowls and get super creative with their vegan protein. Try it ouuuuut!

8. Cocoron

Okay, not all vegan. BUT this has place has the best Japanese vegan soba you'll ever try, and your non-vegan friends will go for the vegan dishes too. They WILL
thank you. The staff is extremely nice - just ask for their suggestions and let them know what your food restrictions are.

9. Avant Garden

All vegan, super snuggy atmosphere, a little more upscale, but a small and unique spot for a nice dinner.

10. Superiority Burger

THE place to go before you begin your wild Friday night. Take your BFF here. A very small and chill spot (you probably won't find much space to eat inside the restaurant), but this hip vegetarian spot will provide you with all the vegan options you crave for. Try their famous mock burger and go for one of the sides which they constantly change and get creative with.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
