Valentines Without Valentine

For those whose significant other may not be able to make it this Valentine’s Day celebration, or is just MIA

Valentines Without Valentine

Prepare yourself for the posts of multiple red roses, chocolates, wines and Valentine’s Day dates with amazing dates while you have been busy stocking your fridge with mint ice cream, or whatever you are feeling. Maybe, cookie dough?

Remind yourself that Ben & Jerry are the only men for you, and maybe even a splash of Jack if you are feeling that way. In reality, you don’t need a man this Valentine’s Day, because your best friends are your soul mates. Your friends are the ones who pick you up when you cannot pick yourself up. They bring you chocolate and all the other types of calories you don’t want, but totally need.

So dedicate this Valentine’s Day to your best friends and stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stay off of Instagram and quit creeping on your ex to see what he’s doing for the new girl in his life, and don’t forget to remind yourself that you are still great.

Try to avoid social media, as a whole. Obviously, the people in relationships who are being spoiled on this silly holiday want everyone to know and be jealous of how great their lives are, but just remind yourself that you can buy yourself flowers, take yourself shopping to get things that you actually like and feel good about it because you are independent.

This sounds super anti-men, but it is totally not. It is an encouragement for those who are not at the best spot in our lives, and are constantly reminded that this is where we are. It is not that you aren’t in the best spot in your life; it is where you should be. This is the time to figure you out, and be happy with just yourself. Your time will come and when that time comes it won’t end up in a heart wrenching heartbreak, because it will be real.

Hope you all have wonderful Valentine’s Day full of happiness in whatever way you find it. This is just a reminder that you are great and amazing and you should not have to have someone tell you that, to believe it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
