Valentine's Day: What Is The Point?

Valentine’s Day: a controversial holiday loved by many girls and hated by many more. I am usually a fan of this holiday. But whether I am single or taken, I sometimes wonder why I get so crazy thinking about this one day.

Honestly, this holiday is completely overrated. Single girls get upset when they are sitting on the couch alone watching Netflix, while their roommate is out to a romantic dinner with their boyfriend. But, in reality, the roommate will probably end up upset at the end of the night because her boyfriend did not make a big enough deal about this overly hyped holiday. So really, what’s the point if everyone ends up upset?

Last year, my ex-boyfriend and I broke up two days after Valentine’s Day because I yelled at him for not remembering. But, little did I know, there were flowers waiting downstairs. So it is safe to say I have since learned my lesson.

The bottom line is that if you are truly happy in a relationship, then every day should feel like Valentine’s Day.

Since walking out of that movie theater in 6th grade, becoming an astronaut hasn't been just some wild dream that could come true.
