If you have a Facebook, or a Twitter, or an Instagram, or a TV, or really if you live anywhere except under a rock, you have most likely heard the most recent liberal outcry, or as I like to call it, an adult temper tantrum. On Thursday, the GOP narrowly passed a healthcare reform in an attempt to rid the nation of the disaster that was the Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as Obamacare. As soon as the bill was passed, social media began blowing up as headlines from many major (liberal) news sources accused President Trump's healthcare plan of many outrageous doings. The biggest of these is that, according to liberals everywhere, the new healthcare plan classifies rape, domestic violence and sexual abuse as "preexisting conditions" that may prohibit people from obtaining healthcare coverage.

After doing some research and reading from somewhere other than Facebook, I would like to call a big ol' pile of bullshit on those accusations.

Let me lay this out as simply as I can for you: President Trump's new healthcare plan didn't change any of the "preexisting conditions" that were defined under the Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act listed the following as "preexisting conditions" with its passing in November of 2009: AIDS, Alzheimer's, Alcoholism, Cancer, Diabetes, Drug Addiction/Abuse, Fatty Liver Disease, Heart Attack, Inflammatory Bowel/Crohn's Disease, Pacemakers, Kidney Failure, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Stroke, Intellectual Disability, Mental Health Counseling, Mental Disorders (including but not limited to Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder), Obesity, Pregnancy, Anorexia, Bulimia, Cerebral Palsy, Congestive Heart Failure, Coronary Artery/Heart Disease, Bypass Surgery, Epilepsy, Hemophilia, Hepatitis, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Organ Transplant, Paraplegia, Paralysis, Parkinson's Disease, Pending Surgery or Hospitalization, Pneumocystic Pneumonia, Sleep Apnea and (GASP!) transsexualism. All of those were defined as "preexisitng conditions" by President Barack Obama and his cabinet almost 8 years ago. President Trump's GOP Healthcare Reform changed absolutely none of those, nor did they add any to the list.

Under the Affordable Care Act, insurance companies were practically required to cover every single person with these conditions, regardless of whether or not you have a job. That, in turn, caused everyone's premiums to rise, making insurance more difficult and expensive to have than make it cheaper and easier, as it was "supposed" to do. Because the premiums were so high and companies with 50 employees or more were now required by law to provide insurance to everyone who works 30 hours or more, many companies began to cut back hours of their employees, because they simply could not afford the sky high insurance for all of their employees. With companies cutting back hours, full time work became next to impossible to find, which hurt the majority of the American population. Also, individuals who, say, worked for themselves, were required to have insurance as well. But, because everyone was now required to be covered and the cost of insurance was rising, most self-employed Americans couldn't afford insurance, so they were fined annually for not complying with federal law and having healthcare coverage. That really doesn't make much sense, now does it? Welcome to the liberal agenda, my friends.

What President Trump's Healthcare reform is actually changing is that they no longer by law require health insurance companies to cover anyone and everyone, regardless of employment or preexisting health conditions. Instead, they are giving more power to the states, and are allowing the states to waiver from "continuous coverage," and also allows states to make a more tailored healthcare plan to fit their needs, instead of using a nation-wide federal government created healthcare plan. This is a good thing, because it will appeal more to the citizens of each state and their needs.

Basically, the adult temper tantrums that are being thrown by liberals everywhere all stem from misinformed, biased headlines and social media posts. The reality is though, there is no where in President Trump's Healthcare reform that specifically classifies rape as a preexisting condition, only that states now have the ability to get a waiver in order to prevent health status and preexisting conditions from automatically guaranteeing someone health insurance. All state waivers must be approved by the federal government, however, so it's not like its about to be a free for all, with California covering every little scrape and bruise, while Alabama tells you to just "throw some dirt on it." Also, 48 out of 50 states already have a law in place that restricts denying an individual health insurance based on rape, domestic violence or sexual abuse.

Saying that "rape is a preexisting condition" is nothing but yet another bit of propaganda set up by liberals to make President Trump look like he hates women. I'm sorry for your loss, but America voted Donald Trump as the President of the United States. Quit your whining, grin and bare it, and be thankful that you are fortunate enough to live in a country that provides everything it does for us while still allowing us to have freedoms and rights.

Now that you have the facts, use your own brain to form an opinion of President Trump's Healthcare Plan, and for goodness sake, quit believing everything you see on Facebook.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
