As a girl who loves fashion and shopping, I love watching television shows and seeing all the glamorous outfits that characters on television shows, like "Riverdale," "Pretty Little Liars," and "Gossip Girl" wear. But as much as I want to dress like Blair Waldorf every day, there are certainly more than a handful of days where I do not have the energy or the time.

As amazing as these high school characters look on our favorite TV shows, dressing like them every day to go to school or work is simply unrealistic.

1. Heels

As glamorous and fabulous as heels can be, no one really puts on 4-inch heels to go to school. I don’t know how Serena and Blair did it.

2. Showing your midriff

Everyone loves a good crop top but going to school and going to class may not be the best occasion for them. Also, many school dress codes have rules that prevent students from wearing crop tops.

3. Shorts and skirts

High school definitely has way too many rules about the length of shorts, skirts, and dresses. I personally just gave up and just wore pants when I was in high school. Luckily, in college there no dress code!

4. Gang apparel

Also restricted in many school dress codes is gang apparel. As much as we all want to be a South Side Serpent, we probably would not be wearing our Serpent jackets to school.

5. Glamorous hair

I do not know about you but I think all of us have those days where we throw on a hat or simply throw our hair up into a bun. I personally, do not break out my curling iron every day to try to obtain the perfect beach wave.

6. Perfect makeup

I think a lot of us wish our makeup was perfect at all times but in reality, it does not always work out that way.

7. Hats

While Jughead rocks his signature beanie on every episode of "Riverdale," most high schools do not let you wear hats indoors. Bad hair days are no exception.

8. Varsity jackets

In all my time in high school, I never saw anyone wearing a varsity jacket every single day.

9. Cheerleading uniforms

Okay, let's be real. No one wears their cheerleading uniform every single day to school either.

10. Carrying a purse instead of a backpack

When going to class many students have tons of books, notebooks, and textbooks to carry with them. Carrying a tiny little purse around is not going to cut it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
