Six Flags Isn't That Great, And 10 More Less-Than-Popular Opinions

Recently a lot of posts on Twitter have revolved around people's unpopular opinions. There's a definite wide range of topics, some of them dealing with current politics, and some of them referring to what type of cheese is best, but they all seem to grab everyone's attention. Some of my unpopular opinions may prove to actually be more popular than I thought, but nonetheless, here are 11 things I believe that the majority of people don't agree with.

1. Pineapple belongs on pizza

First I just wanna say, don't knock it 'till you try it. Pineapple on pizza is actually amazing, and I don't understand why it gets so much hate. If you get some delicious pizza and add a little sweet fruit on to it, I don't see how it can get any better than that. It sounds gross, but trust me when I say it's outstanding.

2. Any drink besides water is gross

Putting all of the sips I've had of soda together in my life, it would probably add up to about one cup. Carbonation is seriously disgusting. I've only liked drinking water and the occasional chocolate milk since I was born, and I honestly can't be convinced that anything besides those two things is good. Even plain milk is something I can't bring myself to like.

3. Bacon isn't good

I know this one is probably shocking, and it has nothing to do with the fact that bacon comes from cute pigs. I know a lot of people are obsessed with it, especially for breakfast, but I can't bring myself to like it. Sometimes I eat bacon to see if maybe my opinion has changed, but I haven't changed my mind as of yet.

4. The electoral college is a good thing

This is an opinion of mine that I will always be open to new information on, but with what I currently know about the electoral college, I believe it's a good thing. In my senior year government class, my teacher showed the class a picture of the areas of America that could have gotten Clinton to win by the popular vote, and it only highlighted a few major cities. The electoral college allows people all across the country to have a voice, even though sometimes it isn't the popular opinion.

5. Superhero movies are overrated

I can already hear the calls I'm going to get from my uncles and friends, but I don't think superhero movies are really that good. I've watched a few, so my opinion isn't uneducated, but I'd much rather watch a new rom-com than the newest "Avengers" movie.

6. Six Flags isn't thrilling

Ever since I went to Six Flags and got sick, my impression of the amusement park hasn't been that positive. That aside, I feel like I can spend my time doing more exciting things than getting dizzy on a rollercoaster. That's just how I feel though.

7. Tamales aren't the best Mexican food

Coming from a very Hispanic family and having tried a lot of Mexican food, I have to say tamales are not one of my favorites. A lot of people love them and I'm sure some of them are great, but enchiladas and floutas surpass them on the list of delicious Hispanic foods.

8. Sleeping with socks on is okay

I don't know about you, but my feet get cold when I sleep, so obviously, I'm going to put socks on. Now, every time I wake up they're somehow off my feet, but just remember it's okay to sleep with them on. You're the one that's gotta be comfy.

9. Ross is the worst "Friends" character

I say this with so much love, I promise. Ross in himself isn't a bad character, but if I have to choose who the worst "Friends" character is, it would definitely be him. "Friends" wouldn't be "Friends" without him and I wouldn't want to take him away, but he isn't my favorite out of the group.

10.  Most country singers sound the same

Maybe this is because I don't listen to country music to know the difference between singers, but I will never be able to tell you the difference between Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, or Blake Shelton. They all sound the same to me because country is country. They all kind of look the same, too, but that is beside the point.

11. "Moana" and "Coco" are better than "Frozen"

I feel like most adults agree with this since "Frozen" was burned into our brains as every child watched it endlessly for an entire year. Once again, "Frozen" isn't a horrible movie, but "Moana" and "Coco" are extremely beautiful films that I feel deserve more credit than they ever received. They're cute and have storylines that fall outside of social norms, and that's pretty awesome if you ask me.

Everyone has some unpopular opinions, some being much more contentious than others, but these ones are fairly harmless. At the end of the day we love what we love, so if your friend likes to drink milk and eat bacon for breakfast, don't bash them too much for it.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

20137
bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

4419
Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
