For what has seemed like an eternity, music has been an influential piece of our lives, usually a huge part of every day too.

Platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify have made it easier than ever to have access to almost all of our favorite songs and artists with the touch of a button. Female artists have been dominating the field lately, but in my opinion, there are a lot of new, and older artists, who still deserve more recognition. In no particular order, this one is for you ladies.

1. Kelsea Ballerina

Kelsea Ballerina is a country music artist who recently released her second album, "Unapologetically", which is a personal favorite of mine no matter what type of mood I'm in.

(I once saw her in concert and touched her hand. I've been in love ever since.)

2. SZA

Solána Imani Rowe, better known as SZA, is an American R&B singer. Her first debut album was released in early 2017, and I'm actually so upset I didn't catch wind of it until months later. SZA has a voice like gold (that I am currently listening to) and Barack Obama even said "Broken Clocks" was one of his favorite songs of 2017.

3. Kacey Musgraves

Musgraves is well known for her country hits "Merry Go 'Round" and "Follow Your Arrow." Although these are the two more popular songs of hers, every other one is worth a listen. Trust me. Especially if you love country music.

4. Colbie Caillat

When's the last time anyone heard anything about Colbie Caillat? I don't know either, but what I do know is that her song "Bubbly" is still iconic. Really a timeless classic.

5. Hailee Steinfeld

I must admit, I wasn't fond of Steinfeld's performance in Pitch Perfect 2, but I turned out being a huge of hers. Her collaborations with FGL and Machine Gun Kelly are literally amazing.

6. Sara Bareilles

Bareilles is another artist who hasn't produced much music as of late, but that does not mean her "throwbacks" are anything far from the perfect jam.

7. Madison Beer

Madison Beer is an 18-year-old singer and actress from Long Island. Beer basically claimed her way to fame when the one and only Justin Bieber tweeted a link to a video of her singing. Her debut album is being released February 2nd!!

(I'm still lowkey sad I'm older than her and she is this successful and gorgeous, but it's fine.)

8. Tori Kelly

Tori Kelly falls into the in-between category. I would usually consider her a pop singer, but her song with country singer Chris Lane, is hot new country and I'm all for it. Her song for Nationwide insurance is also a bop.

9. Dua Lipa

Most people know Dua Lipa as the person who sings the song "New Rules." Lipa reached the heart and soul of girls around the world with this one, but there's no doubt she has more amazing songs on the same album.

10. RaeLynn

RaeLynn is another young country singer who was a contestant on season 2 of The Voice. Her two more popular songs on the radio, "For a Boy" and "God Made Girls" are misleading towards her other singles that are close to my heart. The 23 year old really has an unbelievable voice.

Time to go listen up! *Headphones in, world out*

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
