As a student living in the dorms at the University of Minnesota— Twin Cities, you'll learn about all of the quirks, secrets, and ins/outs of every dorm. Each dorm has its own characteristics that define and create the interesting environments that lie within. With that in mind, here are the perfect songs to describe each of dorm halls on the UMN campus.

Pioneer Hall— "Thriller," Michael Jackson

Oh, Pioneer. This hall is known for crazy shenanigans, hidden rooms, and, best of all, ghosts. There's even a horror movie that takes place in Pioneer— "The Exorcism of Emily Rose."

Territorial Hall— "Shots," LMFAO

T-Hall is best known for being the party hall, which is why "Shots" accurately represents the antics that occur here. Don't be surprised if there's a Monday night party. Stay wild, T-Hall.

Frontier Hall— "Young, Wild, & Free," Wiz Khalifa

The hall full of freshman and few parties leaves me being instantly reminded of Khalifa's "Young, Wild, & Free." Plus, Frontier is a part of Super Block (the biggest and best dorms for parties.)

Centennial Hall— "Here I Come," The Roots

Best known for late night dinners, Jimmy Fallon's "Late Night Show" theme song is the perfect song for this dorm. Late night dinners and a late night show? Yes please.

Middlebrook Hall— "In the Street," Cheaptrick

Ah, the theme song from "That 70's Show." Middlebrook has yet to have any upgrades and is still decorated with lovely, dark brick everywhere. This tends to give off a very 70's vibe, hence the theme song from "That 70's Show."

Bailey Hall— "Big Green Tractor", Jason Aldean

Can't be fooled by this one. Bailey is the only dorm on the St. Paul campus, which is home to CFANS (College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resource Sciences). Basically, all you'll be seeing over there is cows and tractors.

Sanford Hall— "The Sounds of Silence," Simon and Garfunkel

I didn't even know where Sanford was until the middle of my second semester and I don't think I've met anyone who lives in Sanford. It's always so quiet, which is why "The Sounds of Silence" is perfect!

Comstock Hall— "Our House," Crosby Stills and Nash

Comstock is in the center of campus, hence why "Our House" fits so perfectly for the atmosphere! Listen to the lyrics and you'll understand.

17th Avenue Hall— "Let's Get Physical," Olivia Newton-John

My personal favorite, 17th Ave is home to all of the athletes. When thinking of 17th, all I seem to be able to think about is how physically fit and active everyone there is! "Let's Get Physical" is the only song to describe this dorm.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
