Taxis in the U.S. in my opinion are rarely used for transportation because of the quality and prices. It is something that people only use for emergency purposes like going to the airport, or traveling to another small town that is kind of far from where that person lives. Being mindful of the fact that some people in the economy do not like to drive, or can't afford cars, their only options are to either hitch a ride, ride the public bus or train, or even walk. Transportation has been getting very suitable for people nowadays though. New services have been created like Uber and Lyft.
Uber and Lyft is a transportation service that has local people, around the area anyone lives in, to give them a ride. The Uber or Lyft driver use their own car to drive people to the selected destination. I feel like this was the purpose to try and have local people meet each other in a different way, other than meeting people at local bars, clubs, and other different activities around the city they live in.
The good things about Uber and Lyft is that the quality service of the driver is pretty extraordinaire. The car is usually comfortable for the passenger, and you can put on any type of music you want to. An Uber or Lyft driver is always near your location also, depending on the time of day. There are usually a lot of drivers roaming around neighborhoods and cities in the daytime. During nighttime, you'll probably have to wait about thirty minutes for an Uber or Lyft driver to come to you.
The bad things about Uber or Lyft is that it is not an all around ride. It cannot take you around the city to different locations using the same price. The only transportation I know that does it is public buses and trains paying a day pass. when you get to a certain destination using Lyft or Uber, you have to call another one just to get to another destination. It can be confusing and frustrating sometimes because of the different cars coming to pick you up. It is the way of their quality service of trying to keep everyone suitable for a ride if they need it. It wouldn't be fair for a person to keep and Uber or Lyft driver for the whole day.
Having Uber or Lfyt has been a remarkable app that people enjoy to use for different purposes. Whether it is coming home from a bar, club, or even a friends house. it has a different feeling of using transportation. It has a relaxing vibe to anyone that wants to use Uber or Lyft. You don't have to ride in a nasty transportation bus, train, or even a taxi.
