A Dozen Signs You Are A Typical Younger Sibling
The Odyssey

Well, here it is everyone. The list you've all been waiting for. If you are a younger sibling all 12 of these are something that you will be able to relate to. Even if you're not a younger sibling, I'm sure these will give you a good laugh...

1. You're used to jokes being made about you being adopted, but there is always that little voice in the back of your mind which makes you question the truth.

2. You're consistently getting caught taking your siblings clothes.

3. All of your baby pictures show you dressed in ridiculous outfits as a result of your older sibling convincing you that all the "cool kids" were dressing that way.

4. You have lightening-fast reflexes as a result of all the random pillow fights and punch-buggie fights, which still happen even well into your adulthood!

5. Your grades have pretty much always been higher than your older siblings', and you have a more dedicated work-ethic as a result of more pressure and higher expectations from your parents and/or guardian.

6. All of the weird (and totally not realistic) mystical creatures and myths you believed in as a kid were because your older sibling did a heck of a job convincing you they were real with statistics and a full works cited page.

7. You know if you ever needed to beat up someone, you'd have your older sibling standing behind you defending you and ready to help you no matter what.

8. When you need a late night venting session, you know exactly who to call, and it's not Ghost Busters.

9. You answer to a medley of different names like your sibling's name, your pet's name and even sometimes inanimate objects.

10. You've heard many stories about you being ridiculously cute before a time when you were old enough to consciously control your actions or behavior.

11. When you finally enter in "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" you know without a doubt who you're going to call when you get to "phone-a-friend."

12. No matter what amount of friends you have or who comes in and out of your life, your sibling is your friend for life even if they don't always say or act like it.

Shout out to all those fabulous ladies and gents who are younger siblings!

As always, stay beautiful and keep reading....

Your gal pal,

xoxo

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
