If you're like me, coffee is a pretty important part of your day, especially while living in Minnesota! Coffee shops are great places for not only getting great cups of caffeine but perfect for studying, first dates, and catching up with friends. If you live in the Twin Cities, here is a list of some pretty great places to go for your coffee fix:

Anelace Coffee-

Location: Northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota

Anelace is a multi-roaster coffee shop. Delicious coffee, cool vibe, an amazing space, and wonderful baristas. A great place to go for those study sessions. Something special about Anelace is that they have seasonal menus so it forces you to switch up your "usual" and try something new, which always ends up being amazing!

Urban Bean Coffee-

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

Urban Bean Coffee has two locations in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Every time I go to Urban Bean I am presented with great service, and quality. Both locations have a wonderful atmosphere and are a great place to meet with friends at on the weekends or cram in that last minute study sesh. Plus, they even add a cute little animal cracker with your coffee!

Spyhouse Coffee-

Locations: 4 Minneapolis locations: Whittier, Uptown, Northeast, and North Loop.

Spyhouse has four different locations throughout Minneapolis. Each location has a great atmosphere. There is always catchy music playing, super friendly people and amazing coffee. I highly recommend giving the Carmella a try!

Groundswell-

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota

Groundswell describes themselves as a friendly collaboration of American New Cuisine, Gourmet Bakery, and Exceptional coffee. That is exactly what they are. It is one of my go-to places to meet people and they always love it.

Five Watt Coffee-

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

I absolutely love this place! Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming.The coffee is delicious with flavors that are spot on! There are plenty of places to set up for a study session, or to just enjoy the java in a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, the place is very creative which I love!

UP Coffee Roasters-

Location: Northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota

Near perfect customer service, delicious organic coffee, food, and relaxing atmosphere! What else could you want?

Dogwood Coffee-

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

Every cup of coffee is equally as well made as the one before. The coffee beans are outstanding as well are the baristas. There is also a wonderful variety of things to choose from which is nice!

Claddagh Coffee-

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota

Claddagh Coffee is very strong, beautiful, and authentic. The building is warm and inviting. The Irish-themed branding is original and most importantly the baristas are welcoming and personable which always brings me back in!

Amore Coffee-

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota

Such a lovely little coffee shop. The coffee is fabulous, especially the lattes. There are many Gluten Free options which is nice! There is local music on Fridays and Saturdays as well!

Fresh Grounds-

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota

Fresh Grounds Coffee Cafe is great. The coffee is always fresh and delicious. The staff is super friendly and welcoming! Also, the atmosphere is cozy, welcoming and full of art by local artists.

Quixotic Coffee-

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota

Quixotic Coffee is located in St. Paul, Minnesota. It has a super delicious cold brew! Its staff is delightful and it's interior is very lovely. This coffee shop is another that is great for catching up with an old friend or doing homework without being disturbed.

The Goat Coffeehouse-

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota

The Goat Coffeehouse has great coffee and is my favorite place to get a chai! It has friendly people and a comfortable spot for a quick break during your busy day.

Vicinity coffee-

Locations: Minneapolis, Minnesota - Lyndale & Nicollet

Vicinity coffee has two Minneapolis locations. Great coffee and vibe! A wonderful place to hang out with friends and get work done. The baristas are friendly and help create a lovely and positive place.

Peace Coffee-

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

Peace Coffee is wonderful! The coffee is delicious and is also Free trade coffee! The atmosphere is fun and the people are great! Peace Coffee was founded as a project of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy and a portion of their profits support programs fostering sustainable food, farm, and trade systems.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
