“Your 20s are your selfish years. Old enough to make the right decisions and young enough to make the wrong ones. Be selfish with your time- travel, explore, fall in and out of love, be ridiculous and silly, stupid and wild. Be 20-something.”
Twenty truths about being in your twenties:
1. You have to look for a real job and fight for your career.
2. Some of your friends are getting married..
3. And others are having babies.
4. And in some cases, even some are in jail.
5. You’re on your own??
6. Yet, you still go to your parents for help...
7. The first time you fall in love probably won’t be the last, depending on different kinds of love and people that will come into your life for different reasons.
8. Nothing in your life, especially at this point in life, is permanent.
9. Literally. Sadness, happiness, good luck, bad luck, high self-esteem, low self-esteem, your terrible haircut. All temporary.
10. You’re going to misjudge people.
11. And you’ll probably end up beating yourself up over trying to see the good in someone.
12. Your opinions about people you love or respect can change in a second.
13. What you had planned might not be where you end up. And that’s okay.
14. Making new friends is much harder than it ever was.
15. You’re at a point where you feel like you are ready to settle down.
16. But you can’t force yourself to find a soulmate. So you have to work on being okay with being alone too.
17. Take in your surroundings. Stop looking you life through a camera lens. Don’t have proof of every emotion you’ve felt. If it were important, you’d remember it.
18. Your health is most important. Take care of both your physical and mental health.
19. Sleep is also important.
20. Everybody in their twenties is at a different place in life. Take your twenties at your own pace.
