I don't know about you guys, but I love music. I listen to music all of the time. Whether I'm taking a shower, working out, or doing homework I always seem to have an earbud in my ear doing something. I listen to a lot of music and lately a few of my friends have asked me for song recommendations because I play a lot of it at the library, but there are too many songs to decide from so here are 12 albums that I think everyone should listen to at some point in their lives. (Warning some of these songs are explicit)

1. Sigh No More by Mumford and Sons

This is one of my all time favorites. Mumford and Sons is an amazing band (if you haven't listened to them I highly recommend checking them out) and all of their songs are great. Their sound is incredible and Marcus Mumford is an amazing singer. "After the Storm" and "Roll Away Your Stone" are a few of the great songs that I would recommend.

2. AM by The Arctic Monkeys

I'm very biased about this album only because I've seen the band perform live more than once. The Arctic Monkeys concert is definitely one of the best ones I've ever been to and Alex Turner singing live is almost identical to him singing on the album. I personally like "Arabella" and "One For The Road" but all of the songs on AM are great.

3. Brittney Spears Greatest Hits My Prerogative by Brittney Spears

If I had to name one guilty pleasure of mine from the early 2000's, I would have to say this album. She was on top at the time this album was released and even after her breakdown she's released some great songs. I love working out to songs like Toxic and Oops I Did It Again but all of the songs are top hits from Brittney.

4. Beauty Behind The Madness by The Weeknd

I hadn't heard about the Weeknd until his song "I Can't Feel My Face" came out on the radio. Even though there are only a few songs that are played on the radio, most of the unknown songs are actually better than the radio hits.

5. Currents by Tame Impala

This album is what I would define as a dimond in the rough. Tame Impala is not very well known, but their songs have an flow to them that makes them easy to listen to and to enjoy. My favorite song is "The Less I Know The Better".

6. Any of the High School Musical Albums

The High School Musical series was one of the best of my childhood. Regardless, I couldn't pick a single movie because I love them all equally. I'm a huge fan of "Now or Never" from HSM 3 and "Bet On It" from HSM 2, but I honestly love them all.

7. Yeezus by Kanye West

I'm a huge fan of Kanye. Even though he is controversial and makes some questionable decisions, he makes some great music. While I really enjoy The Life Of Pablo, I think Yeezus is a better album. "Blood on The Leaves" and "Black Skinhead" are some of the best and I love working out to that album.

8. The Balcony by Catfish and The Bottlemen

I've been listening to Catfish and The Bottlemen since The Balcony came out. They have a slightly punk but mostly alternative vibe that makes them really fun to listen to. I highly recommend "Homesick" and "Cocoon".

9. Purpose by Justin Bieber

This is not your pre teen's Justing Bieber.... this is Justin Bieber 2.0. He went through his bad boy phase and moved on from the cliche pop songs and transitioned into an album worth talking about. Sure some of the songs are on the radio every five minutes but if you listen to the whole album, you'll realize how much better it is than the old Bieber albums and immediately fall back in love with him.

10. LOVETAP! by Smallpools

If you ever want an album that perfectly describes summer, this is the one for you. I listened to this whole thing when I would have to drive around last year and I loved listening to it. The songs are super upbeat and I love "Killer Whales" and "Over and Over".

11. Room for Squares by John Mayer

This was a hard one for me. I love John Mayer, but all of his albums feature songs that I would 100% recommend to anyone. "Edge of Desire", "Neon", "Wildfire".... the list is never ending. If I had to pick an album, I would say Room For Squares. I love "Your Body Is A Wonderland" and I believe that all of the songs on the album are his first real introduction to the world, which he nails.

12. Glitterbug by The Wombats

This album is from one of my favorite British bands The Wombats. This album is quirky and fun and I just love listening to it. I highly recommend "Greek Tragedy" and "Your Body Is A Weapon".

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
