A "junkie," according to Google, is a person with a compulsive habit. According to UrbanDictionary, a "TV Junkie" is a person who is utterly addicted to ALL forms of television. Here are 10 signs of a TV Junkie:
1. You find yourself awake in the wee hours of the night clicking the "next episode" button even though you've calculated that you'll only manage to get three hours of sleep.
2. A little piece of you dies when your favorite show goes on hiatus, and you spend countless nights dreaming about the insane cliffhanger that the writers left you with.
3. The majority of your tweets are made up of comments on your favorite shows or live tweet replies to your favorite cast members.
4. Your DVR is your best friend...until you find out that everything has been recorded except the last half of the episode, and then you actually break down into tears.
5. You find yourself smiling uncontrollably when your favorite characters finally get to be together, or you find yourself uncontrollably sobbing because your favorite character was just killed off.
6. You do everything in your power to keep yourself off social media to avoid catching a glimpse of a SPOILER ALERT, but somehow you always find your way to one.
7. Once you have a new favorite show, you begin the investigation portion. You start learning every single thing you can about all the cast members in said show. You basically have their entire Wikipedia pages memorized and you know all the side jobs they had before they became successful actors. (Bet you didn't know Jeremy Renner used to be a makeup artist!)
8. You refuse to speak to ANYONE about your favorite shows, until both you are both completely caught up.
9. When characters begin to overlap into your other shows, you turn to IMDB to help you keep track of all the roles these actors have played.
10. Series finales leave you feeling naked and alone, like someone has abandoned you and taken a huge chunk of your heart with them.
Whether you are binge watching on Netflix or Hulu or watching a season episode by episode, you've realized you need help. This may eventually lead you to download a TV Show Tracker App just so you can keep up with all of the shows you watch.
