If you were ever born on Christmas you probably have a love/hate relationship being born on that day. You of course LOVE Christmas but sometimes there is a struggle sharing it on a day everyone is busy. These are the truths about being a christmas baby...
1. The different reactions you get when you tell someone you were born Christmas Day
The initial reaction everyone makes upon asking when your birthday, there is usually a pause because they don’t realize that it is Christmas day yet but when they do they either think its the coolest birthday in the world or ask you how much it sucks being born that day.
2. Certain birthdays you’d rather be out doing something more rather than sitting at home
You enjoying getting to spend time with your family but on important birthdays, for example your 21st, you’d rather be at the bar with friends.
3. You have to share your "big" day.
Since you're born on a day where everyone gets a gift you don’t feel as special. While you open all your birthday gifts someone else is opening a gift that same time so the attention isn’t always on you, sadly.
4. Everyone can’t wait for your birthday (Christmas)
Okay so maybe everyone isn't waiting a whole 365 days to celebrate my birthday but I like to pretend.
5. You’re most likely the oldest out of your friend group
Since I was a “late baby” I missed the cut-off date for when you can start kindergarten. This makes me the oldest out of all my friends which is either a good or bad thing. Its a good thing because I was always the first one to do things. For example, I had my license before everyone, I was able to do certain things without a parents consent and I’m going to be the first one legally able to purchase booze for everyone. It can be a bad thing because you just feel old. Having friends that were October/November babies meant they were turning the age you already have been for almost a year.
6. SCHOOL'S OUT
You know no matter what you are off from school and stress free. You get to just sit back, relax and enjoy your day worry free!
