Today, all we hear about in the news is information about the environment. But depending on what channel you listen to, you hear different things. There are many channels that would show how Trump has ruined the environment along with many others that would talk about how he has helped it. However, whatever side one is on, they can see that he has done things for the environment. In addition, Trump takes the environment, and he continues his true quest of basically rolling back on everything Obama did in his era.
One major rollback that is being done by Trump getting rid of Obama's Clean Power Plan. For those who do not know, the Clean Power Plan was supposed to be a way that pollution carbon would be lowered from power plants. This would create new opportunities for having a clean energy economy. There was an incentive for the states as well! The states that would essentially "sign up" the fastest would get a larger investment and a healthier, cleaner community. This sounds great, right? The communities would have cleaner air to breathe. However, before everything could be successfully completed, Trump decided that he wanted to scrap this entire plan.
Trump's alternative to this plan was coal. He wanted to use coal to get energy like the United States has for many years. The problem is that the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, transportation, and heat is the main human source of heat-trapping carbon emissions. These carbon emissions are what is causing the air that we breathe to be bad and basically unsanitary. It is what causes pollution levels to go up, and it is what, in the end, causes diseases (among other respiratory problems) due to pollution.

Many would argue that this is a step in the right direction because they are simply looking at one side of the argument: it puts many competitors out of business. They also believe that Obama had overstepped the Environmental Protection Agency's authority. The other side would argue that the Trump administration has repeatedly sought to use the power of government to protect the sagging U.S. coal industry from competition against cheaper, cleaner-burning natural gas and solar and wind power while ignoring scientific warnings about climate change.
In the end, I would say that the Clean Power Plan was the way to go. I believe this simply because it was set to help our environment. This is the environment that we grow up and live with. It takes exceptionally good care of us, so why should we not do the same for it? We should not have smoke in the air causing pollution, especially when we have discovered that there are other ways to get energy. Yes, it puts many coal miners out of jobs, but it also creates more jobs for them to build these alternative power plants. The only difference would be that instead of working with coal, they would be working with more environment-friendly materials. This would be a win-win situation for everyone, including the environment, because it would allow the people to live healthier and happier and allows the environment to be cleaner and fresher.
