Our lives, as simple as they may seem were meant to be busy. We are expected each and every morning to wake up with a purpose and complete the task whether we are equipped or not. Although we keep up this appearance quite nicely, would anyone mind to be taken on a journey completely different but yet like the very one you may have experienced a time ago. One where the responsibilities have been tucked away in a dark place only to be seen again when the season has shifted and the light has been let in once again. To truly savor the moment instead moving so fast to the next one, much like the timing of a prompt business meeting. So as we take this transcending voyage let us not forget to savor the several junctures that have defined our very lives in such a singular conglomerate.
The scene begins with two finally graduated, vibrant, feminine seekers; the kind of ones who so desperately want to discover what the gracious Creator has provided for them. They don’t measure their lives with the dull merchandise, the cups of coffee poured into sleepy lips or even by the number sunsets observed, it is only by the miles sought to reach that life is truly given depth. And as they awoke that morning the goal was simple: to make it the most epic and explosive day in their lives. Now, how does one truly achieve this ambition? To never have a plan. Those who doubt in a trip with unplanned planning bring utter shame that is in the name of adventure. They started out by putting on the perfect smudge of makeup which in matter of fact was honestly critical to achieve this unplanned trip. The gentle smudge that caressed their face gave the girls a sense of undeniable confidence stepping out of the car into a brand new city.
The people of this time will say to “take it all in” and while this is very true, how about we call it “savoring.” It is the sensation of an idiosyncratic moment in time that is a specular at best and the mind is perplexed as we continually beg for it to wash over us over and over again. These girls found themselves in this hour of: breathing in the cool air, their chaco straps pressed tight to the skin, taking in the rhythms droned on by the beatbox found in their joyful hearts, and viewing the laughter in each other’s faces. This is what forgotten responsibilities looked like, lest we hesitate and dare to let the light back in again. Savor those moments that are so indescribable and seemed to be one of a kind and in telling the moments to others you will come to realize that you are not alone in what has become bitter sweet. That being said the bitterness comes as the sweet dissipates into the air. Once the journey has ceased don’t forget to started back into the busy world again.
