As a performer, there are tons of things that go through our minds almost every day. Here are a few totally terrifying ones that bother even the most professional of performers.
1. When you get a call from stage management saying you're late, but you were sure rehearsal started at 7:30, not 7.
2. When you walk onstage and realize you have to burp.
3. When you have mucus stuck in your throat and you're not sure whether to spit it on your scene partner or not.
4. When you basically live off of Ricolas and Emergen-C when you're sick.
5. When you hear a rip during a quick change.6. When everyone's getting flowers after the show but your friends and family forgot about you.
7. When you're pretty sure everything you do is going to damage your voice somehow.
8. When your scene partner is sick during a show but you still have to do the kiss.
9. When the person before you does the same song as you at an audition.
10. Wondering what counts as a special skill.
11. Realizing Russell Crowe got cast in a musical but you probably won't get a callback.
12. When someone interrupts your pre-show ritual.
13. Wondering if you'll be poor and starving forever.
14. Not knowing what to do during the freestyle section of a dance call.
15. When you forget your line and try to improvise.
16. When the audience doesn't laugh where your director has been laughing.
