The Top Ten "New Girl" Episodes That You Can Watch On Netflix Right Now

In This Article:

I've done the impossible. I've narrowed down all 146 fabulous episodes of "New Girl" down to just ten of the funniest, heartwarming, and random ones. But you might just want to re-watch them all for good measure.

1. "Five Stars for Beezus" (Season 6, Episode 22)

This feels like an obvious choice, but it really is the best episode. In this dramatic season finale, all our heart's desires are finally fulfilled. Cece and Schmidt receive the happiest news of the 2000s, we see just how much Ally and Winston are perfect for each other, and Jess decides to confess her feelings to Nick, who's finally achieving his dreams. In typical 'New Girl' fashion, there's a lot of difficulty getting to that happy ending, but it comes eventually.

2. "Clean Break" (Season 4, Episode 22)

Coach is leaving the loft to head to New York, so naturally our hearts are breaking a little. But this episode is redeemed in the best way possible with the ultimate romantic gesture from Schmidt. Let me just say, we forgot about that $5 bill, but Schmidt did not. This one comes in number two just for pure cuteness!

3. "Operation: Bobcat" (Season 6, Episode 16)

This episode is "Winnie the Bish's" time to shine. He panics when Ally proposes to him and gives her an awkward "nah," but with the help of Jess, plans a proposal that is just as quirky and random as Winston himself. I'll let you watch the episode to figure out why it's called "Operation: Bobcat." This episode also features some pretty romantic moments between Cece and Schmidt and a single Jess who may be developing feelings for Nick again, keeping the hopeless romantic in all of us alive.

4. "LAXmas" (Season 4, Episode 11)

The gang heads to the airport to depart for their separate holiday destinations, but the weather threatens to interfere with everyone's holiday plans. Jess is especially excited to join her boyfriend Ryan in London to celebrate Christmas but is worried that she won't be accepted by his parents and almost decides to spend Christmas alone at the loft. The gang catches up with her and Nick gives her a sweet, but strange, pep talk. This episode will get you in the holiday spirit for sure!

5. "Cooler" (Season 2, Episode 15)

This "New Girl" classic is our intro to Jess and Nick's amazing love story and features possibly the most iconic TV kiss of all time. The loft's classic but confusing game, True American, leads to a seven minutes in heaven sesh where Nick says he won't kiss Jess "like this." Um hello? But don't worry, he kisses her later in the hallway in a totally romantic moment that gave us all butterflies. This isn't the only notable thing that happens, though. Nick wears a women's trenchcoat for almost all 21 minutes of this episode, which is almost as magical as that kiss.

6. "Background Check" (Season 4, Episode 6)

Winston announces that a police officer from the LAPD will be coming to the loft for a home inspection and a background check and begs everyone to be on their best behavior. Jess panics, though, remembering a bag of what she believes is crystal meth that she accidentally came in possession of. In an effort to cover up the illegal activity, the loft members find themselves trapped in a web of lies.

Nick, unable to lie, is put in charge of distracting the police officer, Coach leaves the loft to find Winston's imaginary "little brother," and Schmidt pretends to be in a relationship with Cece. I promise this chaotic episode will make you laugh until you can't breathe. Oh yeah, and the "crystal meth" is actually just aquarium rocks.

7. "Menzies" (Season 2, Episode 7)

Still having trouble finding new job, Jess decides to blame her problems on her premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Winston then diagnoses himself with "menzies" the male version of PMS and begins to experience Jess' same symptoms. A more tranquil Nick helps them both out with a relaxation technique he learned from his mysterious new friend who might be named Tran.

8. "Pepperwood" (Season 2, Episode 14)

Are we seeing a theme yet? What can I say, Nick Miller just makes every episode better. Nick plays the protector in this suspenseful episode when one of Jess' GED students writes a violent poem he suspects may be about Jess. Nick's detective alter-ego, Julius Pepperwood, comes out and he investigates the student, only to find out he's actually just kind of weird. In all seriousness, though, this episode is just one of the many times Nick loves Jess so selflessly we can't help but crush on him just a little bit.

9. "Thanksgiving III" (Season 3, Episode 10)

It's pretty much safe to assume that any "New Girl" Thanksgiving episode will be jam packed with absolutely brilliant situational irony, but this one tops them all. Feeling insecure about his masculinity, Nick decides to take the gang on a camping trip for Thanksgiving. Nick's idea of "roughing it" is much more intense than everyone else had imagined and of course, puts someone in the hospital. This episode will make you appreciate Nick Miller more than you ever thought possible.

10. "Cruise" (Season 3, Episode 23)

A newly broken-up Nick and Jess decide to invite Cece, Schmidt, Winston, and Coach on a cruise they had booked while they were still together. Things are complicated, though, by Coach's fear of boats, Cece and Schmidt's recent break up, and Jess and Nick's unresolved feelings for each other. Overall, this is a heartwarming episode about relationships between loft members.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
