The 4 Birthdays You Have In College

What's my age again?

As we get older birthdays come and go every year. Currently, I am in that stage of life where we see landmark birthdays come and go so very often. These are the ones that we start out with profuse hangovers each day, eating tons of food, and spending time with all of our friends. However, your tastes and ideas may change as you mature. Instead of destroying back to back shots at the bar with your friends, you might just want to stay in and have some wine instead. Instead of a huge, elaborate meal with your family, you might just want to have a simple dinner together.

Overall I think these are the top four birthdays we experience in our college-aged years.

1. 20

Congrats! You officially beat teen pregnancy. That is the only thing you hear when you turn twenty as a good joke. No one really knows what to say otherwise.

2. 21

Here is the one we all get so excited for when we are nineteen and twenty. The big two-one. You can go out to bars and legally drink in public spaces! WOOHOO. Congrats. Most people spend their twenty first forgetting it. But hey, who says a mimosa or seven won't hurt you for one day, right?

3. 22

Get ready for a whole day of people singing one Taylor Swift song to you on never-ending repeat. Until you're drunk eating a cheeseburger at 2 am or Taco Bell. Whatever you really prefer.

4. 23

Well, you're a legal adult, finished or almost finished with school at this point. So I guess what Blink 182 says is true. "Nobody likes you when you're 23."

Then from there on out you just want your aging to stop. You are in the corporate world at that point. You are becoming successful and living your own life. You might be getting married, who knows?

All I can say is that once you get past these staple birthdays in your life, you'll be looking back and wishing you could do it all over again.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
