1. Lake Eola. For those who like long romantic walks, this is the place. Lake Eola is huge. It offers a lot to see as you walk around and admire the fountain lights in the middle of the lake or the ducks and swans that surround the whole area. There are many benches where you can sit and talk, and one area even features a Japanese gazebo; just a few steps away is a whole wooden seating area that gives you an entire view of the lake. On the weekends, Lake Eola also offers a farmers' market with beautiful artwork and produce that can fill your entire morning date with fun and new experiences.
2. Wekiva Springs. Almost hate to suggest
this place in case people follow my suggestions and it becomes
over run with cute couples. If you’re an
adventurer like me, this is the place to impress your boyfriend or girlfriend. You
can take a walk around the forest or lake, or take a canoe ride on the
river. There are alligators, but fear can bring people closer
together, right? This place is the best escape from reality, and my memories
shared here will always be in my heart. This place is a hidden treasure.
3. Bar Louie. For those who prefer to stay local,
this new bar and restaurant offers a fun and upbeat atmosphere. The food is
great, and so are the drinks, so take a night to get to know each other over a
good meal and take in the things this brand new restaurant has to offer.
4. Citywalk. Citywalk offers free parking on most nights, and the Hard Rock concert venue is a great place to dance and listen to awesome bands. They offer everything from alternative bands and country
-- last year my boyfriend and I saw Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros -- to whatever your heart desires! There are also a ton of restaurants inside Citywalk, including Margaritaville (for Jimmy Buffet fans), Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. (for Forrest Gump fans), and numerous others. Citywalk is full of bars restaurants, and plenty to do at night. There are also clubs and a movie theatre. No matter what you feel like doing, Citywalk is the venue of options.
5. Winter Park. For those of you looking for a relatively fancy place to have dinner and see a nicer part of Orlando, Winter Park is the place for you. There are also places for light shopping, if you feel like spoiling your date or a big (hint, guys, Alex & Ani or Lilly Pulitzer). The park is nice to stroll through and there are so many nice restaurants you couldn’t possibly keep track. It’s a nice change of scenery from the average UCF joint, and it will make you feel more like an adult, but that’s okay every once in a while.
