You heard her since 2006, country music star. The best songwriter and singer that I still adore to this day. Taylor Swift has been my inspiration since I was a kid. Now, in 2017 she has a new album Reputation. In this article, I am listing my favorite songs from her six albums along with a clip of lyrics that speak to me. Reputation is also in with the mix!

1. Taylor Swift (2006)

A Place In This World

"I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know
I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life goes on
Oh, I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in this world
Got the radio on, my old blue jeans
And I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve
Feeling lucky today, got the sunshine
Could you tell me what more do I need
And tomorrow's just a mystery, oh yeah
But that's ok

Maybe I'm just a girl on a mission
But I'm ready to fly"

This song has always been my favorite from her self-titled album because she is, along with many others in this world, trying to find her place in this world. I still am looking to where I fit in most in this world.

Tied Together With A Smile

"Seems the only one who doesn't see your beauty
Is the face in the mirror looking back at you
You walk around here thinking you're not pretty
But that's not true, cause I know you..."

These lyrics ring true to most girls, because we do put ourselves down way too much and we know that we shouldn't; but we put ourselves down anyways. Do me a favor, next time you look in the mirror. Tell yourself how beautiful you are, because you are. Don't think you're not pretty, because you are.

2. Fearless (2008)

Breathe

And we know it's never simple, never easy.
Never a clean break, no one here to save me.
You're the only thing I know like the back of my hand,
And I can't breathe without you...

This is my favorite because I know that I have to move on in life. Even when my close friend decides that she's no longer my friend anymore. For the longest time I told myself that I couldn't breathe without my best friend there for me. But I figured out that I didn't need her anymore, because she was the first one that ended the friendship.

Untouchable (Platinum Edition)

In the middle of the night
When I'm in this dream
It's like a million little stars
Spelling out your name
You gotta come on, come on
Say that we'll be together...

This one was to someone special in my life, it was to my middle school crush that became my high school sweetheart. I never had the courage in middle school to tell him that I liked him a lot. I found music to help me with my feelings.

3. Speak Now (2010)

The Story Of Us

I used to think one day we'd tell the story of us,
How we met and the sparks flew instantly,
and people would say, "They're the lucky ones."

This song reminds me of an old love because I was told that we were the "lucky ones", but I know now that I am lucky to be out of that relationship. Because I found a much better man to love me for who I am and not for someone that I am not.

4. Red (2012)

Begin Again

And you throw your head back laughing like a little kid
I think it's strange that you think I'm funny 'cause he never did
I've been spending the last eight months
Thinking all love ever does is break and burn and end
But on a Wednesday in a cafe I watched it begin again...

This one reminds me of the relationship that I am in now. All because it is true. All I thought about love was that it breaks, it burns, and it ends. My past relationships never last long and I was always the reason why they left me. Because I wasn't good enough.

5. 1989 (2014)

Wildest Dreams

Say you'll remember me
Standing in a nice dress,
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you'll see me again
Even if it's just in your
wildest dreams...

I picked this song because I want to be remembered even if it's just in his wildest dreams. This set of lyrics is so visual, I can imagine it.

6. Reputation (2017)

Call It What You Want

And I know I make the same mistakes every time
Bridges burn, I never learn
At least I did one thing right
I did one thing right
I'm laughing with my lover
Making forts under covers
Trust him like a brother
Yeah, you know I did one thing right
Starry eyes sparking up my darkest night...

I picked this song because this song is to my lover. I know I make mistakes, even if I make the same mistakes all the time I know that you still love me for who I am.

This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things

It was so nice being friends again
There I was giving you a second chance
But you stabbed my back while shaking my hand
And therein lies the issue
Friends don't try to trick you
Get you on the phone and mind-twist you
And so I took an axe to a mended fence...

This is why we can't have nice things, darling
Because you break them
I had to take them away
This is why we can't have nice things, honey
Did you think I wouldn't hear all the things you said about me?

Here's a toast to my real friends

They don't care about that he said, she said
And here's to my baby
He ain't reading what they call me lately
And here's to my momma
Had to listen to all this drama
And here's to you
‘Cause forgiveness is a nice thing to do
I can't even say it with a straight face

I picked this song because I dedicate this song to someone who stabbed me in the back. I mean you could of been my friend if you wasn't so mean towards me. If you're reading this, darling, this one is for you because you are no friend to me since you did what you did to me. Yet, you brainwash everyone around you. Showing them a version of you that you only want to show them, except for me. I know the real side of you. Enjoy this song.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
