Now that the end of 2017 is coming near, and with my love for video games, I thought that it would be a good idea to do a list of my favorite games. Just know that this list is my personal opinion, and it should not be seen as anything more.
7. Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy
The only remake game on this list, the N. Sane Trilogy released to high acclaim and proceeded to top sales lists for months. I absolutely adore this game, and it hasn't been since the time when Crash Bandicoot first came to be that I have spent this much time and energy into trying to 100% complete a game, and I've loved every minute of it. This game is an absolute must-have for any PS4 owner.
6. Snipperclips
One of the more unexpected games to appear on this list, I didn't hear much about this game until I went to buy my own Nintendo Switch, and it provided a lot of great fun at a value that made this game an absolute gem in the early Nintendo Switch library. Me and my girlfriend played through the co-op mode and we were laughing all through the time playing, and with new content being released fairly recently, it's a safe bet that I will be returning to this game.
5. Resident Evil VII: Biohazard
While I'm not usually one for the Resident Evil series, upon hearing nothing but good things about this game, I decided to pick up a copy, and it certainly has me desiring to go back and play through the whole series. It does a great job to set a terrifying atmosphere that keeps you on your toes, waiting to see what's waiting for you around every corner, and I think it definitely deserves to be placed in every gamers' catalog.
4. Call of Duty: WWII
After the awful reception that "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" received last year, I certainly was not planning on buying another Call of Duty for a long time, but I can say with a huge grin that I was pleasantly surprised by Sledgehammer Games' attempt at depicting the second world war, as it does well to put the player into the world of one of the greatest tragedies of recent times in its campaign mode. This, packaged along with one of the most fun multiplayer experiences in recent memory, and the scariest interpretation of the classic
3. Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon
The next entry on this list goes to another game in a franchise with a long history. "Pokemon Ultra Sun" and "Ultra Moon" have done extremely well to atone for the mistakes made by last year's "Pokemon Sun" and "Moon," while still staying a refreshing take on the classic Pokemon formula. The game also has a lot of new things that will keep veteran players entertained, and has enough adventure and story to keep anyone who plays a fun time on the go with the 3DS system.
2. Super Mario Odyssey
The most recently released entry on this list, "Super Mario Odyssey" is the exact game Nintendo needed to finish 2017 as strong as they went into it, with "Super Mario Odyssey" giving plenty of unique worlds with a large number of puzzles and challenges for players to overcome, this is definitely a title that no self-respecting video gamer will want to miss out on this year.
1. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Nintendo really knows how to dominate the gaming market just like it's 1985 again. Undisputably the biggest game to release alongside the Switch, long-time Zelda fans would tell you that this game alone made the purchase of a Nintendo Switch worth it. While I have never been a fan of the Legend of Zelda series, I decided that it would be worth buying alongside my switch, as it would give me a larger and more expansive game to spend some of my time on than some of the other titles available at the time of its' release. This title really made me believe that the Switch really was the next best thing in gaming, and that is why it absolutely must be at number one for me.
